    How do I remove these bushings?

    In a pinch the best thing I can think of is a wooden pencil used as your drift. You can probably use a sturdy shoe as a hammer. Prop the head of the neck on a thick phone book, position it so that the spacer will fall clear and tap it out. My fingers probably wont ever make as good a music as...

    static from pick guard ?

    Highway; we had some carpet at work that was shocking everyone, we had rubber covers on the door knobs even. we started spraying the room every day with a fine mist from a trigger head spray bottle with a concotion of one drop of liquid detergent per gallon it helped a lot. you might try that...

    Buzzing on first fret

    Robert Now that you have a git-tar collection, a Fret Rocker from Stewart Macdonald comes highly recommended. I had two guitars (same brand) that both had very high first frets, if I hadnt had a good straight edge they would still have high action. Now much more fun to play.

    Holding the guitar pick

    Ive got a DVD of SRV playing in Europe, He was sweating from all the garb he wore and he dropped the pick a few times, and he of course was using it bass-ackwards with the the pointy end towards his hand, still he sounded great. I got to looking at how I hold a pick when I was learning to do...

    How fast do you wear your frets?

    I have a cheap guitar with big fat soft frets, left it out on a stand, didnt clean the dust bunnies and played the few songs I knew at least 5 hours a week for two years and it shows more wear than the guitar Ive had for fourty years that has small almost mandolin fret wire which must be really...

    Windy today... 90 km/h

    Robert; 80km gusting to 128km here in the middle of Oklahoma isnt out of the ordinary. I remember one semester I had a 6:30 Algebra/Trig class and when walking into the howling north wind coming strait through 3 strands of barb wire out of Kansas into Oklahoma State Univ in Stillwater Okla I...

    SX Real Parts dont fit

    Well Thats a good thing. The trem plate for an SX is off enough on the whammy bar hole when you try to put a callaham block under it you would have to route it out about half a hole. Everything else lined up ok. Is the MIM plate steel or pot metal?

    SX Real Parts dont fit

    I agree the easiest wayout is to hog out the neck route in the pickguard. And also that making the neck seat 3/16 out farther is a lot of work. Since the saddles are adjustable that would get the low E and G further from the backplate of the tremelo, when inntonated. I had to take out the...

    SX Real Parts dont fit

    I got a real Fender Black Pickguard for my SX 62 sunburst. The SX guitar neck rout is 3/16 farther into the body than that of the real fender pickguard. Now Im thinking this is the reason the inntonation has always bottomed the bridge pieces against the trem plate back. Not sure what I want...
