Structurally they are pretty much identical, except for the "better" pickups in the 339 Ultra and early 339 PRO. The pickups in the PRO series have been changed after a short while. Some people consider the original Burstbucker better. I have the later Classic Pro or something and I like them.

Hi guys, Epiphone doesn't seem to care for Switzerland enough to make their ES-339 hard cases available around here. Do you by any chance know of another brand which makes a compatible hardshell case ? Thanks. Have a great day, Manny
