    Fender Strats and String Trees

I bought a MIM standard strat early this year and there was no spacer under the string tree, it was just screwed down flat to the wood. I found several very small washers (from radio controlled aircraft days) and installed them under the tree.

I need serious help. Schecter c1 plus

I have the C-1+ and really like it. Great neck, sounds good, and has the flexibility of the coil split tone pots. I don't think you would regret the purchase. Alex

    The "G" String

You might find the wound string sticking in the nut when tuning sometimes, it's about a thousandth of an inch thicker than the unwound (.018 vs .017). It won't recut the nut on it's own though. Even if you opened up the nut you could still go back to the unwounds with no problem. HTH

    The "G" String

D'Addario EXL110W, 10-46. To me the unwound G string sounds like it never stretches out and settles down properly.

    The "G" String

Try taking a look at this explanation, it seems to cover just about every thing. http://images.onstagemag.com/files/46/0202Setuptxt.html

    SX STL50 vs Squire '51

Just received an SX STL50 from the big brown truck today. Quite impressive guitar for $109, I'd have no problem recommending it to anyone. Only one thing is a little out of whack, I can't get the correct intonation on a couple of the strings, but it's close enough for guvmint work! Alex

    Schecter guitars

I picked up a Schecter C-1+ last year after demo-ing one in GC in Paramus. Very nice guitar, 24 frets on a great neck, coil splits, etc. Was thinking of selling it but after playing it for a couple of hours I changed my mind. It's a keeper. :)

    New player injury...

Move your thumb to the left to open your hand position a little. Might help flatten out your index finger. HTH.
