Nice! Django is my all-time favorite guitarist. Such a shame that he's only known to a small minority of people. Whenever you see those "greatest guitarists" lists, you always see all rock guitarists. You never see jazz, flamenco, or classical guitarists that would blow those guys away. Not that...

I tried discussing this on the jazz forum I'm a member at, but didn't get much of a response. Maybe I'll get more feedback here.
After listening to a whole lot of Django Reinhardt, I have realized that he seems to be a perfect blend of somebody with great technical skill who can also play...
Thanks to everybody for all the help. I actually heard in the past that slash was very much into flamenco style guitar, but I wasn't aware that he had actually made any recordings playing flamenco. I will certainly have to check that out. Do you happen to know the title of the album?
I actually...
Hey everybody. I really enjoy flamenco guitar and I'm looking to buy more flamenco albums. I have a few by Carlos Montoya, and "Entre Dos Aguas" by Paco De Lucia. I also own two albums of De Lucia with jazz guitarists John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola. Can you recommend some more flamenco...
Coulda been worse. He could have been like Django Reinhardt and had 2 fingers permanently crippled, and only be able to use the index and middle fingers for soloing, and have to figure out alternate fingerings for many of the chords. Didn't stop Django of course:D
Yes, Bireli Lagrene is one of my favorite guitarists out there today. Another amazing guitarist, and probably my personal favorite, is Stochelo Rosenberg.

Django Reinhardt is my all-time favorite guitarist, and none of my friends have ever heard of him. I also never see articles on him in guitar magazines. I find his music amazing, and it's unfortunate he's unknown to even many guitar players. Is anybody else here a Django fan?
