    Gibson Epoch

Wal-Mart mainly sells the First Act brand which aren't too shabby themselves. I purchased the Gibson Epoch at Target for $100.00 which also included a DVD, gigbag, extra strings, cord. et.al. Not a bad investment. My very first guitar was a Wal-Mart sold First Act Telecaster copy. I made the...

    Gibson Epoch

I just purchased a great looking guitar by Gibson called Epoch. It's black w/two humbucker pickups and two corresponding volume controls, and the rhythm and treble switch. Anybody ever played one of these. I'm curious to hear what others might have to say about this very affordable guitar.

    Tommy Bolin Private Eyes

Was at my favorite music store the other day and found this gem in the used vinyl bins: Tommy Bolin's Private Eyes. Tommy played w/the James Gang and Deep Purple. Anybody know anything else about this guy? I'm surprised more isn't heard about him. His solo work is great!

    How's your hearing?

Hearing Loss It used to be that if you wore ear plugs, you were a pussy. Remember that saying "If it's too loud....". Well, people like Pete Townshend and Ted Nugent are now paying the price for that BS fodder. What really scared me into protecting my hearing is when I read about losing the...

New Kelly Richey album out now!

I haven't got to listen to her new CD yet. However, I think "live" is her real forte. At the show, she did a killer version of "Hey Joe" and played her guitar behind her head ala SRV. Here's her website. See if there are any clips to preview: www.kellyrichey.com

New Kelly Richey album out now!

Kelly Richey has just released a new all-instrumental album called "Speechless". I was fortunate enough to take in one of her shows on July 3rd and I, along w/everyone else left the venue "speechless"!

John Norum/Europe back in the studio

This just in from the official Europe website: John Norum and his bandmates are at work finishing up the tracks for the followup to 2004's successful Start From the Dark. John recently tried out 10 Gibson guitars for this new CD and came up with the one that gives him the best guitar sound he...

    John Norum's Gear

On the new DVD, John didn't indicate whether the Marshalls were vintage or not. Either way, they sound absolutely GREAT!! Of course, don't mention John Norum or Europe to Nelskie. He absolutely cannot stand them! Oh well, I guess I better get back into Yngwie like he suggested.

    John Norum's Gear

One of my favorite things from Europe's latest 2DVD release is the 2nd DVD which contains a segment on band equipment. On it, all of the members, sans JT, show and talk about their on-stage equipment. John Norum is profiled first on this segment. Here is his equipment for the Start From the...

Europe - Start From the Dark

John Norum website Here's an unofficial John Norum website, since johnnorum.com is currently under construction: www.johnnorum.net. It gives pretty good info. Touches briefly w/John's stints w/Dokken and UFO.

Europe - Start From the Dark

[COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"][/COLOR Hello Friends, I thought I'd make you aware of a great CD that recently came out: Europe's Start From the Dark. Yes, this is the same group that ruled the '80's w/songs like The Final Countdown and Rock the Night. After splitting up in 1992, original guitarist...
