Les Paul Studios' with the heaviest body

OK thanks- I'm not sure the model names but they were very shiny! And had new Gibson tags on them. I see used ones on Ebay 800-950 range but the new ones on MF are only $999.!! .. I'm befuddled. No cash raised yet anyways. But I must know.

Les Paul Studios' with the heaviest body

hi, can you tell me if there are years or models I can seek out? Those Studios' with the heaviest bodies...? I want a heavy body... Don't want neck heavy diving guitars like the new Studios I just tried. "newer, lightweight" blah blah -- - NO So beautiful, so unplayable :( thanks

    What strings do you use?

I'd always used 009-042's, D'Addario 1982-2002, then changed to .010's and did it for tuning stability- my right hand ain't so graceful. Last year I went to .011's for the Strat and it was no strength issue just took a couple days you know how it is. Tuning stability was even better. Now with...

    Good thing I'm a packrat

Thanks...yes thats right I forgot! I've learned all about this guy on other forums. I'll see how it works next practice and see if I'm more picky about the tone this time around.... Also cheaper than a Keeley mod and I don't have to send it away ! I change pickups all the time so hopefully the...

    Good thing I'm a packrat

Because I never got rid of my Boss BD-2 (Blues Driver) !! :DR I've got a few more solos in our newer tunes lately and I used to just get by with attitude and =I-don't-know-what=. But at last practice I realized that during solos the drummer gets all excited and gets way loud. I don't mind...

Question for tech or other wise guitarslingers

I would gladly give up this hair for a new wife if I could :(

Question for tech or other wise guitarslingers

ha ha :) the solution was raising the action at the saddles ...pretty obvious I know. But I was resisting because I liked the idea of low action. Even though I'd never had it on any other guitars before. So I went from Strat to Carvin back& forth and roughly imitated the Strat's action on the...

Question for tech or other wise guitarslingers

OK thanks guys I'm done, the Carvin's goin to Goodwill. :D just kidding I'm home on lunch hour. I've fixed it. I realize that I had some unrealistic string heights, especially when I picked up the Strat and Carvin and played the same things back and forth. The main prob. was with the 15th fret...

Question for tech or other wise guitarslingers

I 'm at this point again where I usually put the Carvin away and pull out the Strat again..... I came back to the Carvin last week after deciding once again that the Strat neck width was too narrow and was bugging me. The Carvin flat radius and 24 frets are the best thing for me now. But the...

    LOVE Alnico 2

After going back to my Carvin with the SD Custom Custom/alnico 2 mag, I know this is my thing... Ceramic and even alnico 5 are too strident/painful to my ears.... so, anyone have any experience with other Alnico 2 full size humbuckers they can share?.. Which ones you've tried, which you've...

    Long Hair?!?

well how about an all-out endorsement for my secret: http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Office/5687/Propecia.JPG when I was about 37 I noticed a bit of shiny scalp showing, glaring, on my crown. Then got me to the doc asap and got the prescription. It not only stopped the loss but it grew back...
