    Help

Keep in mind that it takes time, patience, and practice. I've been playing for 39 years and still don't have the chops of alot of guitar players I've heard. For me, it's important to keep it fun, and keep it real. I don't try to be Hendrix or Satch....I just don't have that level of talent...

    Am I burned out?

Good post...exercise might be the most under-rated therapy out there. During the winter, I go through those seasonal blues, and what helps most is staying active through working out or just getting my butt out of the house. I think too when you have that diversity (exercise, guitar, other...

Thanks! I always appreciate the feedback.

Should skill level determine quality/price of gear?

I remember as a kid when I first started taking guitar lessons, I was 9 years old and my parents got me a Harmony acoustic, which at that time (1969) probably cost them $25. It worked for me as a beginner. As I kept playing though, the guitar started sounding a little off, so I think my...

    Am I burned out?

All of get in ruts, whether it's a personal rut, or a rut with guitar playing. Many of us, myself included, are our own worst critics when it comes to playing guitar. When I hit a rut, whether personal or with the guitar, it's time to do something different. Even with working out, when I feel...

    Strat Buzzing

A good guide on how to set up a strat can be found on Fender's site in the support section. Or just do a google search for strat set-up. It could be a number of issues, whether fret buzz, poorly intonated saddles, etc. The neck might even be too straight. Look for a good set up guide on the web.

    Goofing Off

Just a little jam to a backing track. This is with my American Series Strat with the Gold Lace Sensors. This is recorded through a Line 6 POD XT on Sonar Home Studio. Just a demo of the tone of Lace Sensors. http://www.box.net/shared/7dxa2nijiv

    Blackheart Handsome Devil...Biasing Question

I wouldn't even have a clue what to look for lol.

    Blackheart Handsome Devil...Biasing Question

    Thanks. I wasn't sure.

    Blackheart Handsome Devil...Biasing Question

Just a question...If I were to replace the tubes in my Blackheart Handsome Devil, would this amp require biasing? I looked all over the internet and couldn't find an answer. I'm not sure if it is fixed bias, or if it would need to be re-biased. Thanks in advance.

    Sometimes . . . I'm an idiot

The problem is, no matter how many times we shave, it just keeps growing back. I'm about ready to quit this shaving thing!! :thwap:

Peavey Windsor Studio vs. VJr, Blackheart, Classic 30

I can't comment on the Peavey, but the Blackheart Handsome Devil might be one of the more fun amps that I've played in quite a while. Even at 7 watts, the volume is not blistering loud, and through a 2x12 cab, it sounds pretty good. I'd recommend giving it a good look...nice cleans, and you...

    ME50 Question

It could be that the batteries are low....try getting a 9-volt adapter for it and see if that helps at all. Is it doing that both on manual mode and preset mode? If so, it might be the batteries after all, but get a 9-volt adapter though...I did for mine and in the long run it saves getting...

    Blackheart Little Giant Head

Exactly...both the Little Giant and the Handsome Devil sound great at moderate volumes. I'm VERY pleased with these amps.

    New Strat!

Nice! I just found one on ebay in that same color with a maple fretboard. The MIM standards are without a doubt a great bang for the buck.

    More on Lace Sensor Golds

I got my Lace Sensor Golds tonight (pre-wired pickguard) and dropped them in one of my American strats tonight. I really like them...whoever described them as "sterile" was dead wrong. I really like the tone...warmer than a standard single coil, and the sustain is much better. They are not as...

Any info for Lace Sensor Golds?

That's actually what I like about them...they tend to sustain a bit better than standard single coils, and have a nice warmth to them.

Got me some weird parts for a Strat build...Shed some light if you can

Definitely not an authentic Fender. I noticed there is no traditional type of tremolo routing on the body. My guess is that "hole" where the bridge goes is an odd style tremolo system. I had an old Kingston guitar that my great uncle had given me that had to springs for the trem...the tension...

    Watching "Lost"?

I really liked it the first season. It started getting too bizarre though after a while for me, and eventually, there were so many plot twists, flashbacks, etc., that I began to feel "lost" watching it. Once in a while I'll tune in to it, but again, I have no idea what is going on lol.
