    1st vid of Bonamassa's Supergroup

I've been looking forward to hearing these guys, but that stuff sounds like retread Sabbath/Zeppelin riffs. I'll buy the CD anyway.

Can you play Smoke On The Water

Yes, but why would I want to?

    Opinions: Gibson ES-135

I have the opportunity to get an all original black late 80's ES-135 for a song, the one with P-100 pickups. It's in nice shape, no issues, just needs strings, cleaning, and a setup. I'm planning on flipping it right away, but wasn't sure how these guitars are perceived on the market or what...

What has the guitar taught YOU?

Getting back to the question, since I've been playing guitar in bands over the last three years, I learned that I got better the more I played, and that lots of notes are never as good as a few well-placed ones that come straight from your soul. I also learned that technically gifted players are...

What has the guitar taught YOU?

Was Arthur Neilsen playing guitar with Shemekia, and is that the guy you jammed with? He's an old friend of mine. We used to play together briefly in a band called the A Train Blues Band, circa 1976. Llater, when Arthur played with Blue Angel with Cindy Lauper, he endorsed Guild guitars and I...

2010 Gibson 50's tribute ltd Les Paul Studio worn gold top P90's

Ach so, was ist deine name? Gib mir, bitte, das apfelmus. Du, siehst du die bleistiftspitzer? Gehen sie zu dem krankenhaus. Hans is ein esel. (I took German in school. I don't remember much, obviously)

    Epiphone Elitist

I had an Epi Elitist Les Paul Standard. It looked beautiful, but the neck was so bad, I coudn't get rid of the buzzing no matter what I did or who adjusted it. I sumped it on Ebay. Too bad. My Tokai LS-85 LP copy licks it's *** in all ways.

Danelectro guitars - are they still available?

The 1990's reissue Danos were not bad at all. I have owned several and still have a U2 and a 12 string. The new ones I have tried have been uniformly terrible though; made in China, terrible finishes, lousy fretwork, tremolos that don't work right, brushed aluminum hardware. Just dogs all...

    Jazzmaster Bridge Issue?

Why no Buzz Stop? It costs $31, you screw it on, and it solves the problem of strings coming out of the bridge pieces. Simple. I have one and it's great. No more issues. I noticed very little change in the tone.

    Hagstrom Viking

Thanks very much for the info. I have searched Ebay and I see that Tim Mauery has the best deals. I'm going to investigate this guitar more.

    Hagstrom Viking

I have been developing a little GAS for a semi-hollowbody lately. I had an Epiphone Dot and thought it was OK, nothing exceptional. I've been checking out the new Hagstrom Vikings and think they look pretty cool for the money, almost exactly like an old Guild Starfire in shape and layout. Has...

    Tennis Elbow?

I've had tennis elbow a few times. I took Ibuprofen and it eventually went away, but I did have to play a couple of gigs basically as a one-armed drummer because of the pain. I played one-armed as much as I could during the gig and it wasn't too hard. No big fill-ins.

    Bumstead Guitars

For the price of a Bumstead, you could buy a nice used SG or Les Paul Studio that will probably play just fine, and more importantly, have resale value. I'm sorry, but I could not play a guitar with the name Bumstead on it. Too many comical visions of Dagwood, Blondie and Mr. Dithers. No...

    An offer you can't deny?

If someone offered me a really great '59 Flametop Les Paul Standard for all my guitars, I'd first have it inspected to make sure it wasn't a fake, then, I'd call the psych ward to report him.

    New SX model at Rondo

Weird body shape-really unsightly, if you ask me, and yes, the pickups look like P-90s, but they don't sound much like a P-90 should.

    What about the other Fenders?

I like that Classic Player JM better in black with the tortoiseshell pikguard.

    What about the other Fenders?

I never owned a Jazzmaster until last year, and now, I find myself using it more and more. It's become my favorite of the three Fenders I own, but it was not without its issues and quirks, which I am still working on. My JM is an MIJ, Candy Apple Red. The pickups sounded like ***-very weak and...

Are Any Of You Bored With Stratocasters?

Sorry to disagree, but compared to any Les Paul, yes it does have a thin sound. Go listen to Eric Clapton's pitifully poor tone on his first solo album, and pay attention to the end solo on "Let It Rain." That is the epitome of puny, squeaky, awful Stratocaster tone. And to think, he went from...

Are Any Of You Bored With Stratocasters?

Let me preface this thread: No offense intended to Stratocaster lovers. This is just my opinion. For years, I played Strats, owned a couple pre-CBS ones too. At one point, I owned five Strats, and finally looked at them and said, "This is ridiculous." Now, I own one, a '94 MIJ 60's reissue in...

    epiphone lespaul junior...

I'm interested in finding one of those better quality Epi Junior reissues from a few years ago, the ones with the set necks, prferebly in the TV finish. They were nice guitars for the money. Throw a good P90 in there, and you'll have something that's totally gig-worthy.
