    Silly newbie question

.13's aren't really all that bad, if you keep your callouses intact. As long as you treat your fingers well, they are fine. Obviously you need reasonably strong hands and fingers...my hands are 24cm from my wrist to the tip of my middle finger...but the fat tone these D'Addario .13's give my...

    Silly newbie question

I've "upgraded" my strat to .13s today. And also, there is no such thing as a silly newbie question. Everybody is always learning.

    Problem?

    My mistake...D'oh!

    Back From Pearl Jam

Yeah, the Jam are awesome. You know, Mike McCready must really be a tiny guy, look at him compared to that strat.

    Don't you mean 11th fret?

    Cheers, all.

    Fender Licenced parts = Fender?

Yeah, it was pretty cool, but it was a bit too...'in my face' for my liking. I prefer something more mellow like a Strat or Tele.:rotflmao:

    Fender Licenced parts = Fender?

I'm already doing a Squier. I've done an old Washburn N2 Nuno Betterncourt model aswell. That came up pretty nice, I sold it for $400AUD. (Bought it for $200)

    Fender Licenced parts = Fender?

If I was to build a Stratocaster using a body and neck from Warmoth, which are licensed by Fender, does it count as a Fender Stratocaster?

    Ever try a Chromacaster?

    P bass body trace

    No worries.

    P bass body trace

I don't know if you still need one, but I found this one for $6.50 (Probably American Dollars). Go here - it's the 14th one down. It might be difficult to do without a pickguard. You'd have to make special covers to hold the pickups in place. It'd probably be easier just to buy a pickguard...

    Hi from The Boss

Thanks. Already it seems like a great place!

    Tele string change?

I have a Telecaster, and play a fair bit of bluesy stuff. At the moment I'm using D'Addario XL110s. They sound and feel nice. I'm thinking about upsizing to XL115s, but that would really require a Truss Rod adjustment, which is a pain in the behind...

    Hi from The Boss

Well, I do play a Telecaster. But then again the only Springsteen song I know by name is Radio Nowhere. :P Cheers, all.

    Rebuilding my Squier Stratocaster

Thanks for that link, thearabianmage. Some great stuff there, by the looks of it. Warren, I will get some pics at some point, but I need to buy a digital camera (I spend all of my money on guitars! LOL!) After I've done this, I'll be rebuilding my Tele, at which point I'll be seriously looking...

    Behringer Pedals?

I own a TU300, a DD100 and a TM300. I don't use the Tube Modeler anymore, it's far too noisy. The TU300 does a great job, but I'm not a fan of the overly-bright LED which seems to be a feature of most Behringer pedals. The DD100 is great for the price I paid ($49AUD). The plastic construction...

    Hi from The Boss

Thanks. Yep, I'm rebuilding the Strat. You can read about it in a little more detail here. Cheers.
