    Clip-on tuners

I use Onboard reasearch Corp's intellitouch tuner. ive had it over 3yrs and its still on the same battery. works great, unless you tune down. it has a hard time reconizing the low E string if you tune down to C. but otherwise its excellent

    PCB drilling solution

use of a center punch is good practice, as it will keep the drill bit from straying away from the intended mark as well as assure you are on target, lower the drill press down with it turned off to make sure you are on the mark. then drill away. harbor freight offers cener punches with an...

    my first mod

Aside from adding EMG 81/85 pups @ 27 volts in my epi Lp standard 2 years ago,ive never done any mods of any kind . So this morning after a few hours of research i decided to bypass the tone pots and caps in the Epi. I soley use this guitar for hard rock/metal so since ive owned it, ive never...

    brass nut

Great, ty nav. as a fabrication welder, lord only knows how many odd things ive had to fab up,machine and make, yet i cringe at the thought of trying to make a nut lol. i guess my next stop is a luthier. thanks ! Allen

    Dirt Pedal Ideas

im suprised no one said ibanez's tube king. it comes with an 12AX7 tube in it and noise supressor built in. i first used an MT2 pedal, sounded like a chainsaw running on nitrous. very thin and "death metal" sounding. i ordered the tube king out of feening for gear one day and i cant tell you how...

    Ntd

adding a 2nd or 3rd 9volt battery to those EMG's will bring out some nice chimes/harmonics, as well as make it a bit louder. i tried it in my (81/85's) dean hardtail and epi LP flame top.i love it

    brass nut

thanks spuds, i checked SM, nothing in the form of brass. is this a job a luthier can do from a blank piece of brass? also did it brighten up your guitar any? Guitar parts Resources offers brass nuts for the gibson, as well as adjustable brass nuts(kinda cool) but not the epi, as i believe the...

    brass nut

Anyone have opinions on installing a brass nut on a guitar? ive heard they offer great sustain and a jangly sound as apposed to other nuts.Ive seen them offered for gibson LP's but not for the epi les paul, which i own. is there a certain place one could be ordered?

    Bugera's new offerings

i loved the bugera 333 (i believe thats what it was) for heavy rock sound.ive never heard anything as heavy for the price they were offering it at. i noticed a few places no longer sell them anymore, anyone know the reason why? While reading reviews on their stuff i also noticed a few complaints...

    behringer sonic exciter

as i read 4 hours of reviews on the behringer, i spent some time reading about the bbe as i was just looking for info on them as a whole, as to what they offer to the guitar chain. both got good reviews and were the same price. looking at the front panel of them both, i noticed the behringer had...

    behringer sonic exciter

yeah i kinda figured it wouldnt be the best quality, but reviews were good on it and its relatively cheap, compared to bbe's product, and with the behringer having a few more knobs of adjustability,i figure what the heck. we'll see how it works in a few days.

    behringer sonic exciter

i like a little of everything, aslong as it has nice melody to it. but i generally play hard rock/slower metal, depending what you wanna call it. im hoping it will help kinda clean up the distortion a little and maybe get some of the muddyness out. ill let ya know in a few days how it works out:AOK

    behringer sonic exciter

Anyone use one of these before? ive been curious about these processors for a while now and figured its time to give one a try.Apparently they're suppose to add warmth and tighten up the bottom end and and add clarity and crispness to your top end. After reading 4 hours of reviews (all good...
