    NGD(S): Deluxe Nashville Telecaster

Congrats! I own several Tele's, and they're a great working guitar. If not my first, they are always my backup at every gig. Consider doing a control plate swap. Easy (and reversible) mod. Leo should have figured that out 60 years ago :)

    Approved before posting

For some reason, Admin needs to approve my posts now. Have I been a bad boy? Did I do something wrong?

FS: Killer BYOC Echo Royal digital delay!

I only use delay on 3 songs, and I have a Nova Delay that covers it OK. Looks like yours is nicer for less $$ tho.

    Illness at home

Thoughts and prayers from me, Robert. Been through this several times with my own family.

    Umanov Guitars Closing

Always a shame to see mom 'n pops close up. That said, I remember stopping in that shop years ago with a lot of cash. I left with all of it. The owners' attitude and prices were terrible. This was maybe late '90s or so.

    Going new ways (maybe)

There's a guy I know named Mark, used to play with the TransSiberian Orchestra. Pretty good violinist. Makes some way cool violins, too. You should check out his website at http://www.markwoodmusic.com/ for some inspiration. He's done some awesome Hendrix covers, too :)

NGD - I could use your help on this..

OK, after noodling around I'm back to this guitar. Ordered an Air Norton tonight :) When I get it ironed in, I'll let you know how it sounds. I already know I'm going with a 250K pot rather than 500. We'll see what happens...stay tuned. (no, really....stay in tune!!)

Where does guitar improvisation come from?

From the same place as any other instrument (or vocal) improv comes from - the desire to try out new ideas, often inspired by the other musicians you're playing with, whether studio or stage. Oftentimes sheer playfulness (Joe Walsh, with a gleam in his eye: "Oh, yeah? Well listen to this!"). My...

Post a band you have rediscovered.

I saw JJ & Mofro in a small club here last year. They either opened for Dickie Betts & Great Southern, or it was 2 seperate nights at the same club. I forget. Either way, both were very impressive! Great musicianship and tons of fun. JJ is really personable.

Post a band you have rediscovered.

Ah, Jaco! I need to learn some Blue Cheer and Mott the Hoople (don't ask why - yes, it's for 2 different bands). Small Faces, too.

    I need a TubeScreamer...help please?

Yes, but did the bottom of Stevie's shoe touch it? That's what makes this one so expensive - somehow, his mystical sneaker (cowboy boot?) imparted magical woody tone-ness to this stomp box changing it to - yes, real magic fairy dust!! Worth thousands, at least. :nope:sarcasm
