    NGD!!! PRS SE Custom 24

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go when I change the strings. Would graphite work as well, I've used it on my tele before, or am I better off purchasing some proper stuff (big bend suace or similar)?

    NGD!!! PRS SE Custom 24

Build quality is very nice, the fretboard is lovely, the neck radius just fat enough. Not as fat as the tele, which makes for a nice playing experience. I'd also never thought that .5 inch in scale length would make so much difference too. PRS really got the idea right. Stretchy chords are...

    NGD!!! PRS SE Custom 24

Picked up this litte beauty today. £399! Over £250 off, beacuse they are promoting the new 2012 edition. Lovely playing guitar, zebra humbuckers, 24 frets and a whammy bar. Sounds fab through the Fender Vibro Champ too. Pics... You got it... Last one is alongside my old faithful...

Fender Vibro Champ XD vs. Mustang II

Oh boy did I make the correct decision. The variety of sounds out of the VC are superb. The cleans are really damn clean, the overdriven sounds are bluesy, just on the cusp of breaking up, and it responds to dynamics fantastically well letting you push the guitar and creating more highs and lows...

Fender Vibro Champ XD vs. Mustang II

I've gone for the Vibro Champ XD after noticing that it has both pre-amp and power-amp tubes, rather a hybrid style amp over the solid state nature of the Mustang. Should arrive tomorrow, so I'll boot her up and let you know how I get on. Apparently the only difference between this and the...

Fender Vibro Champ XD vs. Mustang II

Hi Folks, I have the opportunity to pick either of these amps up for a pricey sum of £150 each. I watched a tonne of reviews of both and can't assertain much difference except the Vibro Champ is a 5watt tube amp compared to the Mustangs 40W Solid state. I'll mostly be using this for bedroom...

HELP! Looking to get into home recording. Question...

I went for the Line 6 GX Studio as a starting point - I get to recieve it for my birthday gift from my wife on Oct 2. I'm stoked about using it. Will check out Acoustica mixcraft as well when I get used to it. Cheers for the help folks. I may even post some tunes once I get sorted.

    The Now Playing Thread

Surfing with the Alien - Joe Satriani. I've only just got into the uber-shredder's virtuoso style guitarists.... Vai, Satch and Johnson, but boy have I missed out. Jeff Beck's verison of Nadia blew me away when i first heard it.

    Nerdgasm!!! (Hobbit content)

Despite being a HUGE Tolkien fan since I was a wee nipper, I'll be giving the Hobbit films a wide birth. Can't forgive Jackson for what he did to The Lord of the Rings, a director changing the story to satisfy his own ego is unforgiveable. Now for the Bourne stories, I would say it didn't...

    Lance Armstrong in ruins?

USADA need to look at their own practices... Offering incentives to those caught out and then offering to cut their ban for tetifying against Lance Armstrong is highly unethical. Of course a cheat is going to do anything to get their own ban cut shorter.

Help me come up with BLUES tunes for an upcoming gig!

Not really blues... but got a blues feeling... Led Zepplin - "Can't Quit You Baby" Actually, just read it WAS an old blues song originally! So that told me!

Today I learnt a new song!

Today I learnt a new song!

Yes Eric there are a lot of nuances to the bending in that song, and Gilmour's guitar work in general. I love the way he is able to bend a note, make it sing, let it drop a semi-tone or a tone, and then belt it back up - sometimes two tones more! I learnt a lot from copying that solo, the...

Neck Radius on Michael Kelly Guitars

Hi I'm hoping one of you kind fretters could let me know what the neck radius is on a Michael Kelly Patriot style guitar. If any of you owners of one could photograph the back of the neck to get a feel for how chunky and rounded the necks are that would be awesome. I'm hoping to buy one in...

    Meet My Back Room

I hear ya. That much room for a studio is excellent. BTW, love the Scottish flag in the corner, do you have any ancestory? I love hearing about that kind of thing.

    Meet My Back Room

Very nice space and room - I could only dream about something like that (as it is) thanks to the property prices here in Blighty (England) :( I'm actually very jealous!
