Buying a Fender HRD - What to check for?

Hot rod I must tell you that for the money it's one nice amp. I have a post on here now because of a blown speaker on my son's 410 model. I sure that it was his fault since he loves boss pedals and may have left one turned up higher than it should have been when he turned it on. I have a...

    Fender Hot Rod 410

I know you are into this stuff hot and heavy. Other than staying with the same brand do you have any reccomendation? Most of the music is clean or slightly driven at times. He's just replacing the one at this time but may end up doing two if he likes the sound. The budget is set for under...

    Fender Hot Rod 410

Well I need a speaker since one of the four decided to go bye bye. Is it neccessary to stay with the same original speakers? I do know that it rated 30 watts @ 8 ohms and would like to try a different one with the same specs. Also what problems if any would happen if I used a 50 watt speaker...

    1973-1974 Strat

At the time I did it, Schaller was the best tuners. The neck pickup is a Fender humbucker done in either 1975 or 1976. I've got alot of crap for doing this to the guitar back then but I never thought 30 plus years later I'd still have it. I've seen bridge pickups changed but never the neck...

    1973-1974 Strat

Some of you might remember me asking about a neck pickup for a 71 Strat. Well I checked my serial number and it's actually a 1973-1974. I've owned it from day one but forgot when I bought it. Get this I can still remember it was $299 plus tax. I just saw one on ebay going for $4000.00. It's...

    1971 Fender Strat

One friend of mine said that there are alot of excellent people out there that can duplicate the original. I maybe thinking that way because of the cost. The guitar is important to me because I delivered news papers for a 2 years to get it but to others it's just another Fender Strat. I even...

    1971 Fender Strat

I'm asking anyone where I might look to replace the neck pick up on my 1971 Strat. I changed it 30 plus years ago when I was a stupid kid and would like to return it to original specs. I have looked at the reissue ones from Fender but I only need one neck pick up. I replaced it with a Fender...

Just got a 96 MIA HotRod DeVille 410

Fender 410 My son just bought a hotrod 410. Yeah it's not a Dr. z but for the money it's still a good fine, although alittle too heavy for me. Another thing it's the loudest 80 watts I've every heard, the reverb isn't so great but it's not a $2000.00 amp either.

    Tube amps

tube amps Thanks for the replys. He plays in a light rock band, not the heavy metal music and most of the time he's miked to the pa system. We went and tried the fender hot rod deluxe with the 4 10 inch speakers, first thing I did was told him to pick the amp up. You don't want to be banging...

    Tube amps

Please advise me on my son's thirst for a Vox ac30 amp. He's only 18 and he wants this amp. I asked alot of questions and was told they, Vox, are not want they used to be. Alot of the hand wiring is not the quality it used to be and the tube lay out offers limited cooling and problems not...

    1971 Strat pick up

Thanks for the reply, I'll check it out. I'm funny about an origianl part. Like if a see a 68 Dodge Charger with 20 inch wheels, that doesn't do anything for me. I want to see the factory mags or the dog dish caps, that's what I'm talking about.... Thanks

    1971 Strat pick up

I was wondering where I might look to find a neck pick up for my 1971 Strat. I really don't trust Ebay because I want to be sure it's the right pick up that would have been installed that year. I made a stupid move shortly after I bought it by replacing that pick up with a Fender Humbucker and...
