    Who's The Best Guitar Player?

James Burton James Burton is a great player. He played for Elvis and others through the years. While most likely not the best, he should be included on the list.

Eric Clapton Yeah Rocket I know what you mean. I don't think Eric has any worry about me taking over his spot. The more I see and hear other players the more I realize I need to work on my playing. Thanks for the input.

    Clapton Sound Effects

Yeah I like the later sound better with the Strat. I just watched some vids posted by Just Strum, "You were wonderful tonight," "Crossroads," (done on Good Morning America with John Mayer) and etc. Clapton is so good and smooth. Since I'm a pastor and play in church I need something that is...

    Clapton Sound Effects

Clapton sound Thank you, I'll try that. It seems to me that most of his stuff is sort of subtle, which I like. I like the clean sound. I use a blues effects at church but I'm looking for something that will give me more sustain. It's good to know I'm not the only "johnny come late" guy...

    Clapton Sound Effects

I think I'm the last guitar player on the planet to become a great Clapton fan. I explain that by saying I've been involved in church work all my life and haven't been around a lot of different music. I was wondering what pedals/effects Eric Clapton uses to produce that wonderful sound.

    Just a WOW comment

Thought I would Throw This Out I pastor a small church and play guitar as well. There are times I walk in and the sound from amp and PA is completely different than previous service. The settings are not changed from service to service. I think it's from accoustics in the church differing...

Phil Keaggy Wow! I went to you tube and checked out a couple of vids. He is good. The more I see and hear other players the more I realize how little talent I have. You can tell he enjoys playing and singing. Thanks for the tip Just Strum.

Thanks for the warm Welcome After re-reading my post I realized that I implied I had not met any good players in church, but I have indeed met quite a few. It's been my experience that a lot of churches have gotten away from the more traditional gospel music and away from the guitar to more...
