    Nashville Tele 'Pickguards'

Wrong brand! Madness is right! Why not just get a Les Paul "Black Beauty" or a 3 pup SG and be done with it? You have obviously bought the wrong guitar if you want all these humbuckers.... The "Fender sound" comes from single coil pups dontch'a know.... JMO, Dennis

    When is a guitar vintage?

Good question since the words "new" and "vintage" can appear together in the same sentence in regard to Fender guitars! Personally, I think paying big bucks for a new Fender that has had it's finish "pre worn" to look old is kinda silly. However, there is apparently a market for these...

A good 50 or 60 Watt Bass Amp

Thanks for the feedback amigo! I used to use a Peavey Mk 4 head with two 12" BW's and was happy with that setup (20 yrs ago!) Think the lil' Cube 100 will do as well? Thanks again, Dennis '72 Jazz w/ maple neck....

Scout around at YouTube...... FWIW, Dennis

Boss "65 Fender Deluxe Reverb" pedal

Yeah, it's the "59 Bassman" that has no reverb.... Dennis

Boss "65 Fender Deluxe Reverb" pedal

Yeah, I know, the Champ was used in the studio by Eric Clapton (and many others) and sounds great cranked up. To me though, the lack of reverb makes it pretty useless for anything but the most casual practice. (I don't even like to PRACTICE without reverb!) Dennis

Boss "65 Fender Deluxe Reverb" pedal

It supposedly can sound like the reverb (and vibrato) from a 65 Deluxe..... The other pedal I'm looking at is the EH "Holy Grail" box... Dennis

Boss "65 Fender Deluxe Reverb" pedal

I have a silver face Vibro Champ amp that I really like other than the fact that there is no reverb. I've had it for sale for awhile, thinking of buying a Cube 60, but am now thinking of keeping it and using the Boss pedal for reverb.... Anyone with this stompbox care to comment? Are you happy...

    Hi gang...

Thanks again guys.....Great forum! Any pickers of the "gentler sex" around here? (That means any girls...lol) Best to all, Dennis :R

    dedicated slide

Nice post Mudcat... I like open "E" too, in fact I spent my first year playing "regular" guitar with that tuning when I was about 7 yrs old. Thankfully, I had a cousin who was a "working picker" (as well as my "mentor") and he told me he would take after my ol' Danelectro with some side cutters...

replacement nut for a cheapie (Fullerton) strat?

Amen bros....."Bone for tone" IMO....(Wish Buzz Feiten used that!) Dennis

    dedicated slide

As was said before, you'll need an awful light touch with your slide to play on a guitar with "normal" string height. In the heat of battle you'll be doing some "clunking and bumping"...... Some slide players like to change their tuning and/or string gauge too on a "slide only" axe...... FWIW...

MIM Std Telecasters - your thoughts?

Frets? Don't know about that durability factor, maybe it depends more on if they are "jumbo" or not? I DO know that the MIM Fenders seem to me to be assembled with care in regard to setup and fit/finish. About as good as the recent "American" guitars and BETTER than most CBS era Fenders... JMO...

Slidin' Squire... Cool tip, thanks! I have a Squire 51 that is to be my dedicated slide axe.... Dennis

    Lube Job.....

I use Valvoline 20W/50 but that's just me. MOST guitar techs will tell you to use lemon oil..... ;-) Dennis

    this is one excited scotsman

Absolutely! Amen Brother! IMNSHO, the Nashville Tele is the ultimate "working axe". It WILL replace several guitars at a REAL gig. All this crap about installing a P-90 (or whatever) is totally unnecessary and will wreck the value of your axe in the decades down the road. If you want to sound...

A good 50 or 60 Watt Bass Amp

Roland? I've been eyeballing the 100 watt Cube, wondering if it'd handle smaller gigs. Wish there was one to try around here.... :-( Dennis Who likes the "guitar" Cubes....

Same scene here in shasta county, NORTH Kalifornia....(at 3400 ft anyway) Arctic white, just like my Tele! :thwap: Dennis
