    Steak your claim . . .

Tonight will be my trusty Weber's final grilling. It was a stupid thing... told myself to not forget to move the grill before I back the truck up... Chicken for us tonight, new Weber awaits at the local hardware store.

    Needing fretter advice... band content

First, if you need a music stand in front of you when you are on stage, then put a music stand in front of you. If anyone in the audience, including any other musician, says anything to you about it, ask them why they are watching you instead of playing their own gig. Second, keep working on the...

    New String Experiment

That's pretty much the same thing Jeff Berlin said about playing light gauge strings in an interview in Bassplayer Mag a few months ago, during the Bx3 tour. It's good stuff finding the right blend of ingredients!

    I hate DS time!!!!!!!!

The singer in my band and I woke up at 10:30 yesterday, only to realize`it was 11:30. (It's OK - we're married!) So, eventhough we got home at 4am, after I set the clock, it was time to get up. After getting somewhat used to these late nights on weekends (we play 2-4 times per month, 1 and 2...

    I hate DS time!!!!!!!!

Oooooh... water battles! We Michiganders are getting all protective of our water too. Seems there's a lot of folks who think we should share, but we think it's ours, and need it to maintain what little economy is left from the offshoring of the auto industry. We love the out-of-staters who...

Cool. I guess I didn't know there was much desalination going on in the continental US.

    I hate DS time!!!!!!!!

You FLA guys slay me. Crazy thing is - in this part of Mi., our summers are a lot like yours - hot, humid, buggie... except we have ALL of the Great Lakes and their precious fresh water! Well, except for Lake Ontario, but that one is kinda different, at least in the parts of NY I've been to.

    New String Experiment

I've never used anything that light, but I'm sure they would play nice, but lack output. It's the old trade-off. My money is on that you're style of playing is more finesse than root-quarter, so it would likely be worth exchanging playability for some output. That's what they make master volumes...

<sigh> How can some people work like that?

Honesty is best - I've been witness to some pretty bizarre behavior when it comes to hiring/firing band members. The one that really cracks me up is "well, I guess the band all quit, so you're on your own to do what you want". Nice! For the last several years I've had the luxury of playing in a...

    I hate DS time!!!!!!!!

I get more time to enjoy yardwork and beer in the evenings. Now if only the ground were not so frozen, like the tundra...

    Where is everyone from ?

Mud Season!!! The dreaded 5th season!!! Here in "The Mitten", mud season is accompanied by the infamous pothole. It's not a bad idea to wear a mouth guard while driving around here.

What's your favorite brand of pens?

I just picked up a Pentel liquid gel pen. I'm finding an affinity for gel.

    String education

I'm new here, so if a reminder that a change in gauge means a change in setup is redundant, please disregard the man behind the bass. I've tried a lot of different string types and compositions, and made a gauge change once (went lighter - never again). I've decided to stay away from...

Why did the Washburn group leave that forum?

Gotcha covered. Sorry about the size of the photos. I have to work on that. :thwap:

Why did the Washburn group leave that forum?

I'm a memeber and moderator from Guitarnotes. I can understand the way a corporate forum might be, and get it why so many have landed here from such. My story is a bit different; the forums over at G/N are pretty slow right now, and there is one moderator in particular there that is entirely...

How about a thread showing a picture of yourself?

That photo is from one of the best parties ever, to be honest. It was the party after I and my singer/bandmate married each other. There was a keg of Honker Ale that was truly tastey stuff.

My name is John, and I'm a bass player.

My elder stepson has a doghouse in his room. Kid's pretty good... I'll be around - this place has really cool people, and sure does keep moving!
