    Hello. I play bass guitar.

    Welcome, from yet another bassist!

    How did you find TheFret?

Trotted over as part of the WAG exodus.

Just look at those numbers, will ya???

Thanks! Two bands: one gets a few gigs a month, the other was practicing for the past 5 months -- and the drummer quit. Just finished auditions and we're back on track. Good thing I got a full-time job (and more) to keep me distracted! :D (Sorry for the hijack . . .)

Just look at those numbers, will ya???

Amen! I just realized I haven't surfed or posted here in 3 months. Been doing a lot of jamming and playing out, though . . .

Why do country singers have to sing with the silly falsetto voice?

I always considered it a "Mr. Haney, the hick" affectation. You know, how he always used to say, "Now Mr. Douglas . . ."? Used by country singers to show just how down-home they really are.

What I found today (lots of pics)

It may sound cool -- but it doesn't make me any better of a player! :D But I'll see what I can scrape together.

What I found today (lots of pics)

LOL! I was afraid of what might happen when I plugged it in. That's why I used the MIM strat instead of something more -- keepable . . . ;)

What I found today (lots of pics)

I don't make a habit of trash picking, but when I see something interesting sitting on the curb -- well, I just gotta look. On my way home from the supermarket this evening I spotted this laying on top of a few matresses on a neighborhood curb: A little small for a guitar, so I glanced...

    Words that you can't pronounce.

According to my friend who knows everything (including, apparently, the rules of English pronunciation) I pronounce words like "heritage" wrong when I end them sounding like "tej" -- the A should be long. She even argued once with someone whose last name was Heritage that he was mispronouncing...

    Embarassing moment

Okay, I have to share this in order to get closure on the incident. And maybe get feedback on similar experience from others here. One of my projects is a trio that usually plays one-set performances of original tunes as a warmup for other bands. I play bass. We've done a handful of gigs and...

    Your favorite Hendrix album?

Axis -- Bold as Love. For the music, sure (especially the title song), but the cover art is interesting too. For my birthday a few months ago I got a 4-disc compilation of previously unreleased and live material that is very enlightening.

    Favorite guitar solo

A toss up between three: Lazy -- Deep Purple Because We Ended as Lovers -- Jeff Beck Since I've been Loving You -- Led Zeppelin I think there's a pattern to my choices . . .

Need to build a bass neck...

Right down the road from me: http://www.exoticwoods.com Mahogany, tulipwood -- the wenge is very dark.

    New Job???

LOL! That's wild, Strum. Good luck!

I rock in South Jersey, off exit 38 of the AC Expressway.

    Removing finish scratches

ScratchX used here, too. It takes care of all but the deepest scratches. Like when I got super glue on the top of my dreadnought and had to use steel wool to get it off, the ScratchX made the area virtually undetectable. And I've used it to buff up a high polish (from a semi-gloss finish) on...

New Bass Day: Spector Performer 4 DLX

    Hey, I kinda LIKE the sound of those! Hmmmm . . . . . .

    Two Projects

Hiya, all! I've been a little AWOL lately, but still keeping with the music. After being out of the business for about 15 years, I jumped back in again with both feet -- and into two separate projects! Keeps me pretty busy :AOK: , but keeps me away from here. :( Project one is a cover band...
