Michael Kelly Patriot Custom deal at Hello Music.

I had a Patriot Q... the older brother to that one. Great guitars, well built, sound good, very versatile.

    Well THAT was a surprise

When I read this whole thing I thought... What if i was the kid waiting for my Schecter V? The delivery arrives... I rip open the box to find... a Hello Kitty Squier. After the look of a confused puppy fades from my face, all that follows is a string of F-bombs! Eric... You did the right...

First time seeing a partial capo in use

Kyser makes several partial capos to give you specific tunings without needing to retune your guitar and keep standard fingering patterns for chords. The guy doing the demo at the guitar show was quite knowledgeable about their use.

    Harmony Ink Stamps???

I have an Old Kraftsman dread from the 1950s. Its a Kay made cousin to your Harmony. Mine has 2 stamps inside as well. No one I know of has been able to find or figure out what them mean.

Anyone tried selling gear to guitar center?

I traded in a used Strat Affinity, I knew that it was worth about $100 used if I sold it on CL. I got a good price at $80. They put a tag of $120 on it. There was some haggling involved and I was buying another guitar. If you are going to trade-in gear, normally expect to get 50-65% of the...

    Vintage Ovation Help

Go here to verify: http://www.ovationfanclub.com/serials.asp But it looks like its a 1967. Put a post or two over at The Ovation Fan Club. Those folks know their O's. You might even find a buyer for that old gal without the ebay hassles.

    Read & laugh - A. Skolnick on Firebird X

Just when I was going to drop serious money on a Gibson, I have to go and read this. First, Mr. J act like an @$$, next he proves he is one by throwing a guitar (sorry, that is a lack of respect on too many levels). Then I go and look at this new piece of expensive, noise making, firewood. GAH...

    What about the other Fenders?

Player... the trem bar fits and screws in no less. No mod needed. I can adjust the set screw to adjust the tightness. Thanks!

    What about the other Fenders?

    PM sent... Thanks!

Gibson pedal article - they STOLE my picture!

I still say send them an invoice for $5,000. Who knows, they just might pay it.

    What about the other Fenders?

Thanks... did I mention she is original? (exception: replaced the slide switches with Fender OEMs) I still have the bridge cover too, but I need to find a trem bar (lost long before I got her). BTW: Stays in tune just fine.

    the "tally the damage" thread

Looking at all my gear (that I still have), I come in around $4,700 spent. Now the actual value... It matters not.

    Hell Guitars

Man, I have been overlooking this thread for too long. Excellent work. The No. 2 and No. 6 have my attention. The gilded looks makes me think you should try one totally steampunk. I am totally curious as to price at this point. Any hints? All the product names thrown around, you missed the...

Am i about to be screwed?

Email pics of the guitar in question to Danelectro Customer Service. Tell them your situation. They should be able to help. Or call!

Is your wife/husband causing you to play less?

and Murphy's story doesn't include his last 2 years fighting leukemia. He was worth it. Anyway... love'm while you got'em!

    What about the other Fenders?

In the very early 80's, I bought a 1969 Fender Mustang Competition for $200. One of the best guitars I bought. Very different from a Strat. I still pull it out once a week for fun.

    Beginning lefty guitarist

As long as she doesn't mind learning to play righty, go ahead. Like Comm 64 said, it will make her like easier as she starts her collection. FWIW: When I was a kid, my grandfather taught me how to play pool. I realized many years later, he taught me to play lefty. I am right handed.

Japanese Les Paul.. What do you think?

I disagree. Fender has been making bolt-ons for decades and no one has issue with them. All because its an LP body, makes no difference. As long is the build is good, so goes the guitar. I have a 77 Bradley LP, its says "STEEL ADJUSTABLE NECK - Made in Japan" on the plate (they all do). It...
