    I'm a new guy here!!!

Well hello again guys. I'm living in Edmonton now, but I'm actually preparing to move in January. I'm going to Montreal. Edmonton's nice, but I'm from Montreal and moved here 2 years ago, but things aren't working out, so I'll have to go back (and stay with my parents for a little while....not...

"Made in Mexico" Squiers from the 90s

That's good to hear. Playability's very important to me. I already have some nice tuners from an old guitar to put on this neck, so the original ones won't be a problem. My other guitars all have medium/jumbo sized frets, so this one will take some getting used to. Thanks for sharing your...

"Made in Mexico" Squiers from the 90s

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up ordering just the neck of a Mexican-made Squier Standard from 1998, instead of the whole guitar. I got the neck off of Ebay, and it's been shipped and on its way. Hopefully when it arrives it'll be good. I'm not expecting too much from it, just decent...

"Made in Mexico" Squiers from the 90s

Anyone have any info/experience with the Squiers that were made in Mexico during the 1990s? I heard these were close to, or the same as Fender Standard MIMs from that time. I'm asking about Squiers, not the black label Fender "Squier Series".

    Evolution of the Strat tone

Lately I've been really into Strats and can't stop playing mine. I'm most familiar with the later 60s tone of Hendrix, and I'm wondering what are the main differences in tone between the early 1954 Strats, compared to later ones from 60s? I've been looking around at different aftermarket...

    Anyone have a Xaviere 650?

I have the xv-600, the semi-hollow Tele with P90s. Monaco yellow, with maple fretboard. I liked it at first when I got it in September but now I hardly play it. I don't know if it's because it's so light, but it feels like a toy to me. Sounds amazing, easy to play, but I just can't like it. I...

    I'm a new guy here!!!

Since I live in a quiet apartment building, I don't have the ability to use any real good amps :( It really sucks, but I don't have a choice. I do have a Peavey Valveking Royal 8, 5W tube amp, that I can play quietly, but I hate playing quietly... So these days I use software amp modellers like...

    I'm a new guy here!!!

Hey everyone, I just registered a few days ago. I check out a lot of guitar forums, and love reading about, and of course playing, guitars. I've lurked these forums but never signed, then decided, why not?! I'm 24 years old, live in Edmonton, Canada. I've been playing since I was about 20...

New Squier Bullet.... nice but, problems with frets!!

Thanks guys, I'll polish the frets. This is what I thought was the problem, I just wanted some more opinions first. I'm going to try this out, never did it before, but that was the point of buying this Bullet: to practice guitar work and mods. It shouldn't be too hard. Thanks!

New Squier Bullet.... nice but, problems with frets!!

So I bought a Squier Bullet a week or so ago. I got it to upgrade the parts, and get a nice-playing and sounding Strat for cheap. I'm going to be switching out the tuners, nut, bridge and pickups over this year. So here's the point of this thread: It plays nice and everything, but whenever I...
