    A Minor Affair

It was here at the fret where I first heard the backing track 'A Minor Affair' a year or so ago and I've seen a lot of You Tube videos of guys (fathers and sons too) shredding to it which is all fine and well if that's what floats your boat. I thought I'd try to take a mellower approach to it...

    R.I.P. Davy Jones

I agree. There seems to be an abundance of "Who the hell was Davy Jones" here. And it comes across as if his life didn't matter when in fact he did accomplish more than anyone in his life than anyone who posts here. The lot of you might want to step back a bit and rethink your attitudes a touch.

Video of a recent recording session.

Great vibe! I'm doubly impressed with the video quality of that Flip recorder.

    Ronnie Earl

I went to high school with Duke (Mike) Robillard and I sat in with him a few times before he spawned Roomful of Blues. Mike was 15 years old when I first met him and he was way way way ahead of everyone else when it came to guitar playing and he still is. As talented as Ronnie Earl is, he was...

    Paul Simon in Berlin

It almost looks like that Simon was playing a Guild Starfire V, but the tailpiece doesn't fit the picture. ???????

I need an acoustic guitar amp

I’m on the verge of buying an acoustic guitar amp because the bass player from my old band and I are considering doing a two man band thing at small venues. We have a PA system that can be fed via feeds. I’ve been exploring a couple of options as to amp choice...

Joe Bonamassa, Springfield MA - 11/11/10

It’s a Small World Afterall, duhvoodooman. I was also there at the Joe Bonamassa concert at Symphony Hall Joe Bonamassa put on one helluva performance. And I agree with you that the sound wasn't as good as it possibly could have been from where I sat - Orch R Row L Seat 34, beneath a balcony...

Have Yourself A merry Little Christmas

    DIY Guitar Rack

I agree with you 100%. The foam I used at the top was the second type of material I had used on the rack. I had used an EPDM originally and it was horrible! Felt material just may prove to be a better solution unless I can locate a better alternative that won't deform under pressure.

Improvisation solo over a slow ballad BT

Steffe, I thought your video was very cool, but what from I saw....you needed to spend less time looking at the camera. Redo it. Close your eyes, play, and record it again without looking at that damn camera.;) That's an awesome backing track that you played to. Where did you get that...

    Harmonica

Lee Oskar brand is a excellent choice IMO. I have occasionally used a harmonica when recording, but I rarely use it because I'm not a good harmonica player. Here's something I recorded a few years ago where I used the harmonica to give the tune a sense of sadness and crying. For Someone Gone

    Winter

Winter is a song I wrote and recorded for my friend Nicole who lives in Canada. My vocal and 5 guitar tracks are accompanied by Phil Traynor of St. Petersburg, Florida on bass, drums, and keyboards along with Canadian guitar player, Rami ,who played the guitar solo begining at 3:58.
