I was just wondering how long a new set of strings should last on a well played acoustic. I have no idea what was on my Ibanez when I bought it, but they are beginning to sound a little dead. I play several hours every day, so I like a good long lasting string with a nice bright tone. Recommendations?

Phosphor bronze will outlast 80/20 strings. Coated strings will last longest but may lose a little "zing" compared to uncoated strings. My money's on D'Addario phosphor bronze (EJxx part codes) in whatever gauges you prefer.

Yep, D'Addario Phosphors are the only acoustic string for me. I change them once a month, or maybe more often if I've been gigging a lot.
