Since I've been playing bass more, I'm looking at getting a bass overdrive or distortion pedal. I tried using my beloved DVM-made "Thesis 96" OD2, but I lose the low end. I've mainly been looking at the EBS Billy Sheehan pedal. The cool thing is that it lets the low end pass clean so it's preserved. It also adds a three-way compression switch. The disadvantage is that it isn't cheap. There is a newer version with a separate boost, but that's even more expensive. Here's a You Tube demo from the man himself.

I'd be interested in any other suggestions people might have. I don't really need metal-level distortion and I'd prefer to steer away from fuzzier pedals too.
