You look awesome with it, Steve!

Thanks Robert! It is what got me started lo these many years ago! ;) I love my modded CV Tele for what it is, and love my Hagstrom, but this "first love" will always have a special place in my heart. And it is a good touch or two above those other two guitars in build quality, especially in terms of finish, and the comfort and feel of the neck. :D

Well I have not been around for a while. I just came back for a visit and saw my old thread was back on line. I guess I should bring everyone up to date.
In late January, I was diagnosed with Colon cancer. I had a successful operation, on Feb. 1 and six months of chemo. On Sept. 30, I had my results from a CT scan and blood work came back negative for Cancer. So far I am feeling great, except for one thing. Due to the Oxyplatin drug I have lost a lot of the feeling in my fingertips, and I am having a lot of problems playing guitar!. By now I had a total of 21 Electric guitars. I have begun to sell off my collection. I sold off most of my lower end guitars, and did very well on them. Over the years I had soured on Strats, and kept only 2 of the nine I had. My 60th, and my 50th Anni Deluxe went for basically what I paid for them.
I kept all of my Gibsons and Epis, and I am slowly getting the feeling back in my fingers. I am having a little sellers remorse, but did not want to stick my wife with 21 guitars to sell, had my health taken another direction.
I am back to playing hockey twice a week, and have made an amazing recovery, according to my doctors.
As far as the information in this thread, I took all of it from the Fender Frontline catalogue for those years. I had collected one for every year that I owned a guitar, that was in the catalogue. When I sold those guitars as a perk, I gave the new owner the copy of the Frontline, so I do not have those available any more. So what I said back in 2010 will be all I can tell you. I will try to be available for any questions I may be able to answer.

Wonderful recovery news, ZMAN! I'm so happy for you. I love it when someone gets to kickazz on something I hate with a passion: Cancer. I've lost too many good people to it.

Thanks guys. I am cancer free so far. I still have to have blood tests every 3 months and a ct scan every 6 months. The strange thing is that my pick hand seems to be affected more. I think you will see a lot more of this since they have hung a name on it. Chemicaly induced Peripheral Neuropathy.
On a side note another Fret Member, Duffy, is undergoing a 12 hour Surgery today at Syracuse medical center to remove a Cancerous growth from his remaining kidney.
I am not sure if he is as active as in the past but he does require some Mojo from the group.
We have kept in touch over the years.
Brian

I a bit cornfused here zman. I bought a Fender Telebration thin line back in 2011. It has a 60th Anniversary stamped neck plate. But no jeweled headstock or anything like that. I was under the impression that these were limited edition guitars (500). So what do I have here??? Is it not a true 60th Anniversary model?

It looks as if you got your info on the guitar. I never knew there was a 60th Tele. I have only owned two Teles and they were both Classic Vibes. I had the Tele Custom
and sold it as well. I did very well on it, almost getting what I paid for it. When the Butterscotch model came out I grabbed one. They are an amazing guitar! I am keeping that one.

Glad to hear that things are looking up! Thoughts and prayers with Duffy too. Let us know how things turn out.

I hope Duffy has a good surgery and speedy recovery. He's a good guy.

On another note, I haven't heard from muddy in over a year now and it is very likely we lost him. Here is the last message I got December 7, 2013:

I hear ya. Muddy and Duffy's better halves probably don't know the web sites they frequented. I have given Duffy my phone number and email to let me know how things go. I will keep us up to date, life goes on!

Glad to see that you are kicking cancer's tail! Prayers for a continued recovery, and that you get all the feeling back in your fingers!

Zman - New here and I'm terribly sorry to hear about your cancer threat.

Although I have no personal experience, one thing I've heard (and fully believe) is that maintaining a positive attitude as being the best treatment towards conditions like these, so by all means keep the faith!

BTW - On another board I was in dialog with a ZemanG2. Is that by any chance you?

Regardless, I wish you all the best.

Zman - glad to hear that you fought back and fought it off! Best wishes for keeping healthy and getting your fingers back to something like normal.

I've wondered about Muddy several times, but have been afraid to ask... I hadn't ever heard anything from him as dire as that message to you, Tig. I'm sorry to hear it.
