Good morning. I've been low-key gassing for a bass for a bit. I don't have the budget to go out and buy a real nice setup, but I keep an eye out on marketplace. There has recently popped up a Peavey that I beleive to be one of their Milestone series. I know it's a beginner bass, but since I AM a beginner, I don't see that as a problem.

Anyway, thought I'd see if anybody had any thoughts on their entry-level affairs. Secret value, or cheap junk?

Boy. Back in the 80s I bought a USA made Peavey p-bass copy that I wish I would have kept. I really don't know anything about that series. I'd suggest looking at a Squier Classic Vibe or a Sire.

All of Peavey's equipment until very recently was made in USA and very good quality. If you find products up to early 2000s for a good price you'd do well to pick them up, especially the older tube amps before the redesign. I have an old late 80's Peavey Classic 30 that I heavily modified and it still sounds amazing.
