Be honest, how many do you have now? I haven't bought a lot of guitars the last 10 years but a few years I acquired my dream guitar - a Custom Shop Les Paul. The next big one is the Fender Custom Shop Journeyman Strat that I really love the sound of. It's almost perfect. I also got something I've been wanting - a P-90 guitar from Eastman and a PRS DGT SE which is a nice all-around axe. I use it a lot for gigs because of versatility.

Just 2. An Art & Lutherie cedar acoustic and a Squier Affinity Series Strat. I went through a phase a while back where I wanted to try the bass, and Squier sells a P-Bass that matches my strat. If I was going to buy another guitar it would likely be that or an acoustic/electric.

Currently 22, but 2 years ago I was up to 35. A friend passed in 2023 and left me 15 on top of my 20, so I sold most of them and a few of mine and did some major upgrading, getting a Duesenberg, a Gretsch Falcon, a Guild Custom Shop Orpheum SLope Shoulder acoustic and an F512, etc. I kept a couple of his and one of them is a Martin Custom Shop Buddy Guy J40, which is the coolest and best sounding Martin rosewood guitar I've ever played. He had a lot more guitar money than me, so bought really nice guitars.

I'll post some pics of them in a future thread. I created a list of guitars that I've owned since I was 15 (68 now) and I've had 84 guitars pass through my hands! It's a good thing I'm able to do most of my own repairs, electronics, setups, etc, because I'd have spent a ton of money upgrading, repairing, etc. Pretty much lost money on every one of them when I sold them because I'm a GAS-y and imapatient man 🤣

Including electrics, acoustics (or acoustic-electrics), and bass guitars, 32. If you include one that's strictly unplayable "wall art," then 33. I just finally got round to updating my "collage" photo of the 29 electrics and basses, am posting it in a separate thread.

I have downsized a fair bit over recent years. Aside from some workbench projects I am down to 12:
1/ PRS SE Custom 24 (the blue one pictured)
2/ PRS SE Special (22 frets, pictured)
3/ Fender Strat Ultra from the mid-90s -- my oldest guitar
4/ Fender Mexican Strat
5/ PRS Singlecut semi-hollow from early 2000s
6/ Fender Baja Tele similar vintage
7/ Epiphone Sheraton (very old and crazy heavy)
8/ Martin Mexican Road Series acoustic
9/ Fender Mexican P bass
10/ Gretsch Boxcar resonator
11/ ancient Fender nylon acoustic
12/ Yamaha 12-string (cause everyone should have a 12 string?)

I had hoped and still intend to get rid of more, but the market is so soft right now there's little point. Can get a bit more if trading, but there is really no gear I need and we're at the stage of life where we want and need to downsize, not bring in new stuff (no matter how appetizing that seems at times!)

2020 Reverend Warhawk 390
2018 Taylor 914ce
2008 Jackson RR5
2007 Jackson DK2M
1994 G&L USA Legacy (traded my Nashville Tele for it)
LTD Surveryor-414 Bass, which I'm looking to turn into a white Spector Icon NS 2
