I got to see Albert Lee a few days ago and this got me all excited about playing in that style again so I figured I'd preempt my originally scheduled podcast on tuning and do a pair of videos this week on Hybrid picking. This weeks "Lick of the Week" will be a few choice (and achievable for us mere mortals) Albert Lee licks.

How cool is that to be able to meet Albert Lee and see him play up close. He is the master. I've only experienced this kind of thing, seeing a legend play up close, a few times in my life. I used to go watch Eric Johnson play quite often at a local club in Austin when I lived there. I would see him every chance I got, and I felt awe struck each time.

It would be cool to talk to Albert Lee about all the guys he has played with over the years. I would have asked him about that "Concert for George" gig that he played. That would have been the best gig ever.

It was pretty mind blowing to watch him from about 10 feet away. I'm still pretty hyped about it. Ive gotten to see a ton of great players over the years but this was just too fun. I didn't really want to hassle him during his break but I did shake his hand and say that I really enjoyed the music.

Good lesson, Mark. I find hybrid picking much harder than finger picking, which I spend plenty of time doing.

I'm glad to see you still do your own stunts, even with the bad shoes.

lol. Thanks Tig! Hybrid picking I think is a bit more difficult just because half your hand is holding the pick and the weaker fingers are having to do the finger picking part..
