New G&L Tribute Series ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-hollow Day! :dance

Got a sweet deal on this brand new, still-in-the-sealed-factory-carton guitar on eBay last week, and it showed up today. The seller had acquired a number of new G&L guitars from the stock of a music store going out of business, and was selling this for 1/3 off the usual street price. I've been looking at the Bluesboy Semi-hollow model for some time, and this is my favorite color of the three versions they offer. Set-up and intonation were right on the money out of the box, and the mid-sized C-profile neck is very comfortable to play. As its name would imply, the guitar is voiced more for blues and classic rock than for a traditional Tele country spank, though it still has plenty of bite on tap with the bridge pickup. I was ready to be underwhelmed by the neck humbucker, but I'm quite impressed with it so far--excellent clarity and a nice full, round tone. Doesn't seem to get muddy too quickly when you dial up the dirt, either. And the guitar sure is nice and light! Gotta put a bunch more time on it before I render a final judgment, but so far, so good!

If you're interested in looking into the details on this model, check out the G&L product page: http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/TributeSeries/guitars/ASAT_Classic_BBSH_new/index.asp

Congrats Voodoo....what a deal you got. Love the color. I've been gassing for the same one for a while now. Glad to hear all the positive feedback. ENJOY!!!

Beeyutiful git! Would love to hear what it sounds like... Enjoy - I, too, love that color with the maple neck.

Beautiful!

G&L - Gotta love it!

Currently owning three G&L basses, you could say I'm quite a fan of the brand.

I should really get one of their guitars some day.

I have an ASAT Classic S that is a pleasure to play and sounds terrific, with useful tones in every position. I know you'll really enjoy that axe.
