I was looking for a clean boost with more sound shaping options than my TC Spark Mini. While researching I came across some fantastic sounding reviews of the SF. How could I go wrong with an investment of 57€ (approx. 65USD) for a pedal + AC adapter + shipping? So I ordered the pedal and was very pleased and surprised about the excellent tone characteristics. The SF is as transparent as a pedal can be. It adds some very nice smootheness, some call it “butter”. It works great as a clean boost, but also the overdriven sounds are classic – I’d say it sounds definitively more musical than my Fulltone OCD, also can’t I detect big differences to my other “expensive” boutique pedal. EXH did a great job on that one. As a clean boost, I still prefer my TC Spark Mini, but I must be fair, this TC pedal is hard to beat, because it tickles pure magical tone out of my Two Rock. The TC now runs into the SF and the result is pretty cool – in fact it’s so cool that I will rehearse with this minimal set up for the following weeks, just to find out if this could be the sufficient solution. The only bummer is that the SF doesn’t work well with the Free The Tone SOV-2…somehow things get very boxy sounding, no matter which of both runs into the other…this gives me to think…
I can recommend the EHX Soul Food to anyone looking for great Blues and Classic Rock tone. You will not be disappointed, this pedal is incredible. Some say it’s a perfect clone of the infamous KLON Centaur. If the original sounds as well as the SF, well then I understand what all the hype was about.

I've had the EHX Soul Food for several months and still enjoy it. It stacks nicely with low gain OD's like the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive.

I know of several people who already sold theirs. I guess they were expecting something different. I think they used it more as a boost (Volume knob) than as an OD with the Drive knob.

Clips will come - promised - as soon as I find the time...
Yeah, maybe the SF is not everybody's cup of coffee, but most reviews really prove this pedal to be very good, but it has to fit not only your taste but also your set up.
