    Carvin

I have a California carved top. LOVE IT. The tone from my humbuckers is great - not muddy. It has the coil tap so you can go single coil, which aren't as clear as a good strat, but certainly respectable and makes for a versatile instrument. The finish work was first rate, with comfortable...

    Ibanez Mikro

Apologies - put my initial post in the Fender section. Has anybody had any experience with the Ibanez Mikro guitars? Any opinion or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Ibanez Mikro vs. Squier Mini

Christmas time is coming and my 4 year old has expressed interest (yeah!) in an electric guitar. Has anybody had any experience they'd like to share about the Ibanez Mikro or the Squier Mini? Looked at them yesterday at GC and seems like the Ibanez is put together well and has decent sound...

    Washburn D10S vs. Epiphone DR-200S

I did it - bought the Washburn and am happy with the purchase:bravo: . I took a chance and purchased online, but no problems with the guitar and factory set up is good. I'll likely change the strings out soon, but it sounds pretty darn good and now need to practice a bit more to make it sound...

    Washburn D10S vs. Epiphone DR-200S

Thanks all for the feedback. Took a look at the Art & Luthier today at lunch, and it sounded great, although I wasn't too keen on the natural finish. Supposedly they age better, but aesthetically just wasn't appealing to me. Will keep trying and pull the trigger soon!

    Washburn D10S vs. Epiphone DR-200S

Hi all - looking for a lower-cost solid top acoustic, and have seen the threads on the Washburn with positive feedback, but curious to the forum's opinion on the Epi solid top. Price differential between the two is about $100, but both appear on paper to have similar construction - spruce top...

    Bon Scott beginnings

    AC/DC returns

Yes, it's called Black Ice and according to what I heard on the radio yesterday, it will be released October 29th at Wal Mart's only. I could be wrong on the date, but certain it said exclusively available only through WM. Correction - just heard on the radio that it will be released October 20th.

    New Rush DVD

Can't wait. These guys don't have the mass appeal as some groups, but they are by far in my opinion the most talented musicians out there. A fan since listening to my sisters 2112 album on vinyl when I was a kid......

Welcome Tone E. I'm new as well to the forum, but have already picked up a ton of information and love the discussions. Hope you do the same. Fender and Gretsch - great picks! On my dream list as well....

Not that he's in the running, but I would love to see Chris Cornell in as a frontman for VR. Dude can tear it up....

You said you had some of their amps? Thoughts on their small boutique combos?

Picture of my Carvin California carved top

I think you are right on the pickups. Carvin has so many choices of how to build - just like buying a car! Yeah, my opinion on the customer service was pretty much focused on the sales rep I got on the phone. Complete nimrod that could have cared less to sell me a guitar, which isn't the...

Picture of my Carvin California carved top

Sunvalley, the humbuckers do split into single coils. In single coil mode it's a bit warmer than a strat pickup, but is missing that fender twang. It's nice, though. Humbuckers really are sharp, especially at higher volume on my Vox. I unfortunately don't get much time though to play it at...
