Jack bruce's "SG" Bass for sale:

Who Wants it! Why do you think he plays Warwicks now? Those SG basses weren't and still aren't all that! That Damn stupid three point bridge!

I'm looking into a new bass

Second Bass.... Just get a Fender Precision MIM for about $450.00 USD. Slap a set of D'Addario Chromes on it in the 45-65-80-100's and you'll have all the BEEF you could handle. A PORTERHOUSE! Just don't go smashing it! :AOK: Also the Squire Vintage 70's P-Bass TB. I have one and it's a bottom...

    Fender Precision Ash Tray

Ash Trays In Fenders early days, 1951 to 1972 approx. the ashtrays had mute pads in them to make the instrument sound more like an upright and it did! This is the bridge tray now, the neck one was for looks. Fender abandoned them because guitarists rigs were getting more powerful and bassists...

    New String Experiment

More than I Expected! I slapped those babies on today only having to do minor intonation adjustments. The bass has two graphite support rods so the neck shouldn't move. The ProSteels gave this bass a total different attitude. The light guage practically plays itself! I could turn up my amp now...

    New String Experiment

Iv'e been thinking about trying a really light guage string set on my Fender Marcus Miller V. The guages are, 35-55-75-95-125. in ProSteels. Does anyone have any experience witha string guage this light in either D'Addario or Rotosound. The set I ordered with the separate B is below....

    Tko

I just picked up a new old stock Peavey TKO bass amp. It's between 12-15 yrs old! I was going to get the Combo 115 but realized that with my herneated and degenerative discs in my back, that might not be a good idea. It's rated at 80 Watts RMS but it sounds like 150 watts! The cabinet is quite...

    String education

Strings.... Return them and get either the Chromes in 45-65-80-100 or the XL Nickel Rounds in 45-65-85-105. The rounds will be bright at first, then after two weeks will mellow. After about four months they will have that old school roundwound sound. Halfwounds go dead quick! I mean dead no...

A good 50 or 60 Watt Bass Amp

50 or 60, how about 75? I just picked up a new old stock Peavey TKO 75 watt 1X15. This amp is built like a TANK, and sounds like it's 150 watts! It's about 75 lbs, a pound per watt. :) This amp throws so much bottom for a 75 watter. Probably due to cabinet design and speaker . It has a...

Who's heard, and Heard of Sam Bush Band?

Style of music played, " NewGrass" . Blue grass and Rock fused. I've never heard anything like it. His band is amazing. He plays fiddle and mandolin, he has a guitarist, man on upright bass, and a man on banjo. All are super accomplished on their instruments. Did you ever hear a Mandolin played...

    Fretless Follies!

Jaco's Homade fretless... He pulled out the frets with his teeth, filled the slots with Silly Putty, and coated the board with maple syrup! :rotflmao: All kidding aside, I thought he used Man-O-War spar varnish for the fretboard coating?

    Fretless Follies!

Jaco's Fretless Jaco's fretless was lined. Heck, the unlined does look cool especially an ebony board but why not take advantage of those fretlines to play in tune? They sure help me, my fretless sounds as in tune as my fretted basses when I play.

    Lube Job.....

Try Hoppe's No. # 9 oil. It's sold in Kmart, Walmart, and any gunshop. It's for gun mechanisims but the back of the bottle states it can be used on gun and rifle stocks which are made of wood. Iv'e been using Hoppe's for 8 yrs and it does the job. Not only does it oil, it cleans as well. It's a...
