So after a merry half-hour on Christmas annoying the bejezus out of my family with my brother-in-law's Crybaby, I've decided I need a wah. What is the conventional wisdom on what should I get? Is the fasel inductor really worth the extra money? Are the extra controls on the 535Q and the Crybaby from Hell useful? Should I bother considering Morley or Vox or Budda wahs? Anything else I should know?

The Budda wah is used by two of my favorite guitar players, Marc Ribot and Timothy Young. Both get amazing wah sounds from it.

tOt my fishing gear stays buddy!

I don't know what a fasel is but it sounds pretty dang good. The EX-7 pedal I recently got does a decent enough job of reproducing that sound along with the Vox wah sound so that's why it's up for sale. Call me crazy but don't call me late for supper. :)

This is an aside, but I'm happy you like the EX-7's wahs enough to get rid of the real thing. I've heard some gripes about the EX-7's wah models but I've enjoyed them--and that's without any in depth tweaking.

I really like the Vox wah. It's got that simple frequency mute and it really nails anything done by Hendrix.

I like the vox also.Ive got a limited union jack model.

Also not metioned alot is the Morley Bad Horsie/B.H. 2.

It is a great wah.I have a limited edition white bad horsie with vais sig .!!!!!!!:master: Ive heard of the rmc as being a top wah but have not personally tried them. One last model for a look see is the new dunlop jimi hendrix

Personally I am very fond of the Vox wahs because thay seem to be a bit more open sounding you know? i dont know anything technical, but compared to my Dunlop (which is incredible!) the Vox seems to have more range and lets the guitars tone through a bit more...Just what i think though

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I'm going to go ahead and buy Tone's Crybaby for now, but I'll be checking out the Vox as well.

Wahwahwahwah,

R.
