A couple new family members.

I got this about a month ago. I traded an Epiphone Dot for it. It's a Line 6 Variax Bass. I wanted a good bass for recording demos in my home studio and this fit the bill. It has twelve different settings so it models the tone of P and J basses and a whole bunch of other things.

The other new toy I just picked up last night. It's a Carter Starter Pedal Steel Guitar. I don't know how to play it but I have always wanted one. This will be a challenge because you not only use the bar to play chords and melodies but you have three pedals and four knee levers that bend the strings as well. I will not be posting clips any time soon.

I love pedal steel, but I'm pretty lame on one. Depending on how your Carter is set up (I'm going to assume E9 tuning), and how the pedals and levers are configured (they can be set many different ways to suit the owner), you may find the pedals easier to use than you think.
The LH and middle pedal are normally used to change the root (let's say "C") to "F", while the middle and RH shift to the relative minor "Am".
Play with it and enjoy!
(And buy a good chromatic tuner if you don't have one already!)

Yep, it's E9. I'm starting to get the hang of how the pedals and knee levers work. It's just getting all of my appendages coordinated.

Cool.........if the knee levers are adjusted normally (if there is such a thing), there should be one (inside left?) that will give you a maj. 7th, and another that will give you a flatted 7th.
