Glad to see The Who (as they are) at the SuperBowl. Made me think of The Who that was. The greatest live act ever.
I imagine some of you are already familiar with this one but for those who aren't or have forgotten, this, to me, is the epitome of rock. Harmony and power, destruction and redemption. Keith Moon is possessed and Pete is at his impudent, snarling best:



This was from the Rolling Stones Rock N' Roll Circus which never did air in its' day. I read somewhere that the Stones (mainly Mick) didn't like how they came off. Especially in comparison to The Who who at this point in their career were a well oiled touring machine.
 
Wow, I've never seen or heard that one!

The Ox (RIP) really rips that one up!


PS - I really liked the Super Bowl performance. Much better than the sloppy Stones!

Sound/image aren't great but you'll get a taste of it. There are actually two versions of this performance using different camera angles. By far the best is to be found in the documentary "The Kids Are Alright".
