I've heard a number of people mention the aural benefits of getting the AD30VT (and other combo amphs) off the floor. My question is: what do you guys use for a stand? I noticed that MF has a couple. One got terrible reviews. The other one (the MF-branded one) got pretty good reviews. would something as simple as a small wooden chair or a metal folding chair do the trick, or is tilting the amph important too? I don't think I'd want to try to tilt it without a stand designed for that very purpose.

I make my wife get down on all fours and put the amp on her back while I practice. :)

Now THAT'S rock n roll!:D

Anything will work. Catch a gig in a bar and you'll probably see a couple of chairs under the guitar amps if they are combos. Good thing - you don't have to buy a chair or carry it with you. Bad thing - your amp won't vent very well if the chair back is close to the tubes. That is why amph stands are good, plus the tilt feature.

I do that too, thats why I got myself a large wife. It might be handy if I decide to get another Jazz Chorus 120 again.

Here's an amp stand that I imported from Germany. The bottles are there for strictly medicinal purposes........:D

In my basement I have my AD30VT on an old coffee table. I put a piece of wood
under all but the back "legs". Viola! Tilt-O-Whirl.

I did this, because I play standing up & my ankles don't have ears.

Looks like some good medicine to me!

Well, I took an old chair and put my amph up on that. Quite a difference! I'm going to have to re-EQ my Vox settings now--everything is too trebly!

I will check the local Guitar Center later today and report if they have anything useable...

order the MF branded stand for $20

Links? Pics? At that price I may want one for my AD30...almost cheaper than a chair.

...and getting my girlfriend to get on all 4s and putting the amp on her back isnt much of an option...well I could get her to do that, but if you thought the 60 cycle hum was bad...you should hear her chatter. "yak, yak, yak"

won't receive until next week, will post my feeble thoughts upon arrival...

best $20 I've spent in a while...sized for the AD30VT.. looks like it would hold any portable up thru a 2x10.. probably would be hesitant to set an original 4x10 bassman or twin reverb or other large amps on it but it fits single speaker units great....:D

Today I tried not just elevating but angling my AD30, and its made a HUGE difference. Whereas before, for instance, the plexi model was unusable, it's now my favourite!
