I've been using my Dad's old Gibson for the last few years since I learnt how to play. I'm now fancying a change of tools so was thinking about getting a fender. I got to play around on a jazzmaster the other day and really enjoyed the sound. It's a completely different beast to my Gibson but I'm after a change so that's cool. I've been asking around about the jazzmaster to see what others think but I get a very mixed response. It's that marmite thing of either loving it or totally hating it. The pro jazzmaster crowd steak a compelling case but I can see why a lot of people would opt for the strats or telecasters instead. Any opinions here on the pros/cons of the jazzmaster? I'm currently looking at some fender jazzmasters at a used for sale store online. There's an apple red one going for $1,099 that I really like the look of and that's about the top-end of my budget.
