Anybody have any experience with Stew-Mac bodies & necks?

Supposedly made in Korea by Mighty Mite for Stew-Mac. $200 for a finished body and $125 for a finished neck seems to be too good to be true.

I bought a strat neck for a partscaster I was putting together. The finish was pretty rough, so you may want to do some sanding and refinish it. The frets were also a little jagged on the edges, but if you know how to finish frets, and polish them a bit, not too bad. The nuts that come standard on those are plastic.

My thoughts...if you refinish the neck, replace the nut, and know how to finish frets, it's not a bad neck for the price. In other words, they are decent quality, but require some finishing touches.

Allparts necks are reasonably priced, licensed by Fender and are supposed to be pretty good, so if you want to save a little bit of finishing work, Allparts might be a good alternative.

Warmouth probably has the best necks but they cost a good bit. Allparts are pretty good necks so I'd suggest them.

There is a seller on ebay "The Stratosphere" who sells genuine Fender necks that are in mint condition. Sometimes you can find a good MIM neck on there.

Stew-Mac's bodies and necks are Mighty Mites. At one time I found that MM necks and bodies were sort of marginal, quality wise. But, in the last three or four years I've found the quality to be quite good.

There are sellers on E-Bay that offer the MM bodies and necks at better prices than Stew-Mac. I have a couple of favorites from whom I've gotten several necks and a couple of bodies that were all of excellent quality.
