Around Christmas time, that was THE catalog to have back when I was a kid.
They're long gone but thanks to the magic of the 'net...

http://www.wishbookweb.com/

There are lots of different catalogs to check out, back to the '30s.

Brings back memories.

Man, I lived for the Wishbook...marking pages, making lists.
One year I scored a sweet Sears SG guitar and amp!

I remember the Lionel train sets and got a big arse H.O.scale set one year("76")........my first guitar earlier in the year started taking priority though:)

In the early-mid 60's too. :D It got you to start salivating early as to what you might want to ask Santa for. :rotflmao:

I can remember what we did with them after they became outdated, do any of you??????

I am happy to say that that was just a bit before my time.

But I did hear tell of what you speak.

Looking at the 1966 catalog's G.I. Joe section was like looking into me and my brothers' toybox.

You and me both, thankfully...

And yep, that's one of the things I looked up first! Man, those prices!!

Nothing like a two holer outhouse in ten degree weather to make you appreciate the luxuries of modern day living.

YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK IF: going to the bathroom at night involves shoes and a flashlight! :D

or to make you really think about if you can wait til morning.

reminds me of an old book we used to read at Boy Scout camp: "50 Yards to the Outhouse" By Willie Maykit and Betty Wohnt

(groan, . . . LOL!)

There was a two holer there I remember very well.

There's a little church near here that I usually preach at every Lent. They only have an outhouse. Lemme tell you, you do NOT want to be out there in February. In the dark. Wearing a suit.
