Yes, it probably does make sense, although the timing is interesting with ABB playing so little these days -- really just Beacon and a festival or two. Wonder if it had to do with Gregg's new musings about a new ABB album.
Having seen the current incarnation a number of times, it's hard to imagine ABB with two other guitarists that will burn like these two. It may be time for ABB to retire, although not Gregg as he's doing well with his own touring band.
I will miss them if they go, but taking away Trucks and Haynes is the biggest hit they've had since the loss of Dwayne, in my view anyway.
