to be succinct...

the first two pics were from her school's formal graduation saturday [the school of fine arts... as a music therapy major].

sunday, all of the schools have their graduates [this year, 4000 of them] line up to pass through the Campanile [pronounced 'camp-o-neal-lee'] which is a wwii memorial for those students and faculty who fought in the war.

there is a huge superstition amongst the students that if you walk through the Campanile prior to completing your studies, that you will not graduate. it is a right of passage.

the graduates march down a significant hill down into memorial stadium for a second ceremony. the other three pics are of the Campanile plaque, BG 'walking the hill', and then after the ceremony, us actually having her recreating her big moment.

she also didn't tell us that she'd won the e. thayer gaston award for music therapy... we found that out saturday during the ceremony.

it was a pretty special weekend. :)

Congrats to BG and also to Shiner & CB for the fine job of getting one through college. I will always remember the day I saw our son grad from college, WHAT A RELIEF!

Congrats to y'all!

The belief here at the University of Florida is that every time a virgin graduates from UF, a brick falls out of the Century Tower. Here is a pic of the Tower:

It seems to be in remarkable shape for it's age.

:D

Krash thats funny!!!:rotflmao:

Congrats to the Shiner family and B.G.,it is a scary world for alot of grads right now but there will always be music and in my opinion id rather have a music degree than a business one. If that dont work out she can always be a lawyer........................ :rotflmao:

Congratulations to her and the whole family. Extra congratulations that she doesn't look like dad's modeling photos *shudder*

Don't know how I missed this last night.

A big congrats to BG, the hard work is paying off.

Thankfully she doesn't look like the ole man.

Brian, I enlarged the picture and all I can say is a guy would enjoy going to school or vacation at U of Florida.

Mark, just don't tell anyone that Mrs. Krashpad graduated from UF also.

;)

Thanks for all the kind words y'all. And believe me, no one is prouder of the fact that she doesn't look like me than I am!

Hey Brian, we had a similar legend at Baylor, only it was that every time a virgin graduated the statue of Judge Baylor would stand up and take a bow.

Haha, that's outstanding.

I love that kind of humorous college lore.

Krash, that's hilarious...

and thanks to all for your kindness. :)

Congrats to you CB and Shiner! You've got a lot to be proud of! I have to do a little bragging myself. My 18 year old is graduating on Friday night (May 22) and is the Valedictorian of her class! She also won the STAR Student award (highest SAT in her class) plus other honors and recognitions and scholarships.

Here's a couple of pics of her at Honors Day last week:

Of course, it goes without saying that we're mighty proud too! Thank God she takes after her Mama! :D

While I'm bragging, here's a shot of her with her "old man" in background, singing at a church with the youth praise band:

Seminole County? I thought that was in Florida.

There IS a Seminole County, Florida, Sanford is the county seat if I'm not mistaken. But we are definitely Seminole County, Georgia, population 11,000. Muddie's right, we are the Southwest corner of Georgia, bordering Florida and Alabama. I live about 12 miles from both states.

Thanks for the kind words Muddie! We're beyond proud of her. Baby Sister is winding up 6th grade and she cleaned up at the Middle School awards the same day as Big Sister. Here's a picture of her after the awards ceremony:

Yeah, I know Ron's over by the Florida/Georgia/'Bama convergence. I tend to think of Seminoles as from south Florida, so up above the north Florida line was an odd place to see that name.
