I am so rapt in my new Blackstar HT-1R head that I brought myself for Christmas a few weeks early..... I would go so far as saying this is the best value 1 watt amp on the market for the price IMHO, the little beast just cranks out incredible low volume tones & is a gain monster.....
I really only use the clean channel with my pedals to get the dirt & it is just as good with single coils or humbuckers...
For low volume usage in a bedroom or if you live in an apartment it is a cracker plus it has an emulated out for direct recording, but to be honest I have not tried that out as yet... Not many youtube vids showing what the amp is like for cleans but I think it is capable of doing a bit of everything not just a metal amp like a lot of people think....
