I was shopping for a used Digitech Digiverb and Justa suggested I might want to look for an echo or delay pedal.
What do you use?
Thanks, Dave
I'm pretty much a rookie at all this.. but we all have opinions and..
Before anyone takes this as I don't like reverb... and what's this idiot rookie saying now!
I do like reverb... and there is always a place for reverb.
Suggesting Echo and Delay was just an option I came to like ,
and mentioned it to DaveO in a private discusion we have had.
but who knows what I do in the future, or whats truely the best.
I leaned towards Echo and Delay for two reasons, right or wrong:
1. Once I got past all the fun with a reverb I used it on one or two settings only in this "home".
Both of which always seemed over the top or out of place to "my ears" on any setting.
2. "I" really enjoy the Analog Echo sounds on an Ibanez DE7 but still had to bend/switch to change it to delay.
So, I sold the Digiverb and got another DE7, because I am to lazy bending and didnt see the need
of a pedal that I probably would not use in my chain just laying on the floor. (but tastes change)
They (reverb/delay/echo) seem to be very much the same.. but not..
and I would assume be the users preference. so my opinion did come with "my" own research and reason.
good article on what each is can be found here:

And probably the pushing force for me to sell the verb and get another delay:

why "not" and why "to" use Reverb can be found here (and yes all subjective):

I vote for Ibanez DE7.. outputs wet and dry, Analog Echo and Delay 30ms to 2.6 seconds... around 40 bucks used.
(enjoy a setting suppose to sound similiar to the binson echobox.. whatever it is..it sounds good)
