Hi all,

I recently had to buy a new Christmas present from my wife to me, because my order for an Epiphone Special II went south... wrong colour, wrong hardware, graphic not attached properly - the list goes on. You can see what it was supposed to look like here: What should have been Christmas...

Instead though, I have bought myself a lovely old 1963 Eko 100 series in brown burst to replace what should be my present.

I already had one of these, but it was in rough condition so I had refinished the whole thing and replaced a lot of parts.

This one is in amazing condition though. Pics below:

I was especially delighted to find the original tuning pegs on the guitar - this is a feature that my other one did not posess.

The other nice thing about it is that the original pickguard has been replaced by a Framus pickup system of similar vintage. I'm currently in contact with their vintage department to see if they can replace it with one that works... if not I may buy a new one entirely.

Alternatively I still have the original pickguard which I replaced on my other 100 series, so I could just reattach that one.

Anyway, Framus pickup closeup:

All in all, I'm delighted with the purchase. I just can't get enough of these old Ekos. If anyone has any catalogues, parts, guitars from Eko, let me know if you are wanting rid of them and I'll make an offer...

Thanks guys - let me know what you think of her!

Very nice phoenix_p0 :happy The condition looks great, i want to pick that baby up and play it, I bet it sounds a plays great!

That sure is a nice looking guitar. I really like it. I think Epiphone did you a favor by screwing up your order.
