Tot already mentioned these two Boss pedals that were announced at Namm. I´m gonna get both of them! Bassman & Twin modelings in a standard Boss pedal form... sweet!
The only thing that I think they should have included was speaker sim. It would be very nice to be able to hook one of these up to the mixer without going through a external sp.sim

No demos or clips yet on the Boss site. How do you think these will compare to the Basmann & Twin models on your Tonelab SS?

I guess I have to wonder what the point of this is. Why buy one pedal (which will undoubtedly cost at least $100) that can simulate one amp type only, when you could get a POD or something that could do that and so much more for not much more $$?

It could be so that a pedal that does one thing does that thing better than things that does many things :D
I would like to get at least one of these, and use it like I use the Guvnor (to give my modeled amps a second channel/Boost/whatever).

Yeah, I wonder about the benefits vs. even similar models on my RP-80, though one would expect them to be better than the "budget" Digitech version.

As far as running a DR pedal into a DR amp, if used as a pre-gain pedal as described on the website, you should be able to get the OD amp tone without having to crank the amp itself (or am I out to lunch on that?).

I'd have more concern with my amp/cab/speaker coloring the sound and how true the pedal's modelled representation would be.

Then again, I can barely play as it is, so why get caught up in the details :D

Someone made a point on another forum about running the DR pedal into....a DR amp and well...what would that sound like? Twice the Deluxe or something?
NO! Don't do it! That would create the dreaded "Vortex of Tone" from which nothing can escape!
