Hey Banditos,

What was your first GAS?

That was mine, as far as I remember this being GAS besides thousands of other toys I had in mind around 1979 or so.

Or was it the a Star Wars Stormtrooper Action Figure.....?

No I think it was the one in the picture.

Röck Ön Pumpafröbröd!

Mine was one of these

I was 8 or 9 and this thing was the Emperor of my basement empire of star wars figures, GI joes, etc. This guy was the allmighty...looking for image, will edit post when i find right image. Ok, here he is in all his plastic glory...

Honda Z 50.
My folks had split up and it was time for a visit from my dad who lived all the way in the opposite corner of the USA from me. He drove out, took me to the shop, bought the bike then left me riding it while he went to town and got drunk. Bless him.

I really loved that bike and even modified it like my friends suggested. I got new piston return springs and a new set of muffler bearings. The bike ran tops!:)

Boy, I was trying to remember. Probably the first I can remember is any number of Hot Wheels. Most likely a Corvette like this one. I don't think I got this one though.

I do remember my 'Cuda with the hood removed. I loved that one. Probably my best racer for a long time.

the above is like the cuda I had but mine was sparkle royal blue, like my first bike, my Schwinn Stingray. I tried to act like Peter Fonda and ride around in long pants with my shirt off. I ate it hard in pedal, probably due to that rear "slick" tire and ended up walking home in tears with a chest full of scrapes. One of many adventures. I loved that bike!

Ok, I first thought this was a very very stupid thread... so I knew it was for me!!

The first thing I can remember that I wanted... G.A.S.'ed for... I was probably 4-5 years old.. There was this plastic horse you rode.. the cool thing was when you pressed your weight down... it's legs would push forward and backward and you would kinda scoot forward a bit...

Mom, not having the funds.. actually got some aunts to get it for me at christmas...(spoiled?) I then road it to Kindergarten one morning before the rest of the family woke up (about a mile).. (that I do not remember , but I have been reminded throughout the years..sigh)
Was a great horse!

My friend had one of those and his sister has the inchworm version :)

I had that Evel Knievel!

Sun - I had a really cool Hot Wheels "Wheel" collection back in the '60s. The cars fit inside a little compartment shaped like a wheel...you've probably seen it. I have no idea what happened to them. I probably wore them out and broke them. I think my mom still has the case.

I had the same wheel case. Some of my old stuff was still out in the garage at my folks. I probably should look and see. Could be worth something on the bay if it was in good shape. Most of my cars were pretty banged up. We raced and jumped them a lot.

I still have 2 of my Evel Knievels - 1 that was used and abused and another that is still new in the box :) I had a 3rd but that was destroyed from use

I totally destroyed mine from use too. I jumped that guy over ditches and rocks and off of roofs. LMAO :DR

I didn't have one, but we used to lie down in a line and the guy who had one would see how many of us he could jump over. :p

Vintage toys! Some of you might have had some of these. During the '60s outer space was a big deal.

Major Matt Mason action figure and book...

Part of what I missed growing up in the 70's. I was born in 70, so while a lot of my toys of interest were space based, they weren;t as cool as some of the 60's toys. i do still miss my millenium falcon though.

We had the original Big Wheels in our neighborhood and we destroyed those too on rocky hills!

my mom still has pics of me on my big wheel.

You know I had forgotten how terribly bad the gas was for those Big Wheels. First a neighbor got one...then a cousin...then another cousin and some other friends. I JUST HAD TO HAVE ONE TOO! G.A.S. is overwhelming and at times unstoppable. Seriously.

The neighbour's grandson had that Evil Knievel figure with the ramp and stuff.
God, it was great and in fact it could jump just like in the commerical.....
