There's a new video by Greg Koch at the NAMM who demonstrate a little bit the new pickups mounted on his Strat

Hmm...the idea is certainly very cool, what I'm worried is whether they have any life to them left or is it too synth like already. But, actives can be a little neutral sounding and yet very warm and lively with a tube amp. The demo only features very clean sounds and those to me felt almost like di guitar sounds.

I dunno why demo a pickup and use a sound that is just like an unplugged electric. No color, nothing.
