I've noticed as of late that the frets on my tele are looking a bit nasty. They've all flattened off a bit and the G string has formed some slight depressions on the 7 or 8 frets going from the nut. My question is basically, is it possible for me to do this kind of redressing myself without too much difficulty or if I get it done professionally how much would it likely cost? Thanks!

In order to redress the frets yourself you'll need some special files and tools. Here is a good place to start looking for the equipment.

Some more info on "frets".

If you opt to have a pro do it a simple redress will set you back $75-$100 +/-
If the guitar needs new frets that will likely set you back $175-$200. $275 or more if the guitar has a bound fretboard. These are the going rates in St. Pete.
