Congrats, then. You've got a great guitar. If you ever want to know the actual build date, take the neck off & look in the neck pocket. The date they actually married the body to the neck is stamped in there. You might a different date stamped on the neck's butt.

Thanks for the advice... G&L's totally took me by surprise. I had just bought my "main axe", the Fender American Deluxe Strat.... This has never happened before, but I had walked into Guitar Center to hang out with a buddy and try out some guitars... When I saw the G&L and tried it... I HAD to have it. It was setup so poorly and the fret edges could cut your hand so I got them to knock some off the price. After my tech was done with it, it is easily a rival to my Strat as my main axe.

I have to stay away from music stores now because if I try a Commanche, I may end up buying one...
