Well, I wrote out a long damn gig report and somehow managed to erase the mofo trying to copy the URL to the first pic. Short version: we (my "first side band" Hoyt and the Hotheads) played Saturday night. Last show at the Shamrock, which is closing, with a successor bar to be opened by the same family downtown. Our openers were called Progressive Madness, a multi-generational swamp/bluesrock/hippy band.

We had a good crowd. Our bassist is on tour so I switched over to bass, and an ex-bandmate of our drummer's sat in on guitar. He went to Berkelee and teaches guitar and stuff, so he's way good. He played on 2 practices and there were no trainwrecks. In fact someone on our local band scene website (who herself is a local musician) said we were the best she'd heard us.

Without further ado, some pics will follow. All reasonable questions answered, and your gratuitous comments on my poseritude are welcomed.

Our drummer Bruce, who is very lucky indeed that his Heineken sitting on my vintage Sunn head did not spill:

That Heineken on the amp is pure horror to me. Nobody would ever put a drink on my amp - point!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Only smiling faces on the pix :_)

Looks like fun! Cool blue Ric there! :DR

Got a set list?

Thanks, I have the same Ric 620 in red! As far as set lists go, we play all originals (with the exception of a fairly obscure cover of a song by an artist called Dan Bern), so it would just be a list of names of songs you'd never heard of. We had practiced "Rocking In the Free World" as a possible closer but frankly I can't recall if we did it! Not to my knowledge anyhow. ;) :D

It's my theory that most drummers do not understand about electrcity.

Hit drum, drum go boom! :D

Most excellent poseritude Brian!!

Looks like great fun, wish I was there! :DR:R

Too bad your road warrior saga about hot chicks throwing themselves (not to mention their clothing) at you, the fight with the biker gang, & the police raid for TOO much fun all got lost when you tried to upload it! :D;)

Wha? No spandex?
Seriously, I'm envious. I'd love to be gigging again. I'm glad you're doing it and posting it. Keep it up...and maybe someday....

Haha, actually I DO have a story about a police raid, with a prior band. Maybe I'll go bump the road warrior thread in Open Mic with it. That, or I don't think I've told the full story on playing bass for Bo Diddley last summer (though I mentioned it in a thread about his recent mild stroke). I have that 'un saved somewhere, which would save the typing. ;)
