The news of his passing made me very sad.

I won tickets to a GSH show once, front row at the Santa Monica Civic, '73-ish, and I couldn't see another white guy in the whole audience, but no problem except I didn't care for the show and few others seemed to as well. But he did have an impact on many overall and, especially back then, every little bit helped. Too bad he couldn't exorcise his own demons.
