I found this guy while googling about learning guitar as a Dad, and he seems to have some good thoughts. Not so much new stuff, as a lot has been covered here, but his blog on how he approached picking up guitar starting at 50, and how he tries to maximize his time and benefit for learning, provokes thought at least for those of us who picked up playing as an adult. Check it out!

July 9 and Sept 2, 2009, and Dec. 20, 2007 caught my interest so far. :dance

I've been trying to teach my dad for a while now (he's in his 60's) but we keep falling out cause he gets frustrated with me :)

So for his birthday i bought him an online tutorial course, he loves it and so does my mum cause it keeps him busy...he's addicted thank God and we stopped falling out...phew!!

found the course to start guitar here
